Redmine Metacat - Bug #7229 (New): Mis-Formatting of Data Package Contentshttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/72292017-11-17T21:19:00ZThomas Thelen

In MetacatUI we're getting a slight mis-formatting when displaying data package contents. This can be seen in the attached images. The issue was initially reported in MetacatUI as issue 379.

https://github.com/NCEAS/metacatui/issues/379

From Bryce,

"The HTML in question is actually produced by Metacat and MetcatUI is just rendering it without modification from Metacat's View Service. ... The fix would involve changing the underlying eml-2 XSLT."
Metacat - Bug #7182 (New): Allow partial package downloads when some of the objects are private https://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/71822017-04-13T15:10:57ZLauren Walkerwalker@nceas.ucsb.edu

When you try to download a package that has at least one private object, you get a 401 - Unauthorized response. When I am authorized to read at least one object in a package, I would expect to still be able to download the .zip package with those objects.

It's difficult for MetacatUI to tell when the "Download All" will fail, since it would need to check the /isAuthorized/{pid}?action=read result for every single object in the package, which can sometimes be >100. So right now we have an issue where users are getting a failed package download.
Metacat - Bug #6959 (New): http response charset not includedhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/69592016-02-11T00:29:11ZPeter Slaughterslaughter@nceas.ucsb.edu

Metacat doesn't include the content type charset in the http response headers:

curl -o test.dat -v "https://knb.ecoinformatics.org/knb/d1/mn/v2/object/solson.25.5" returns

Content-Type: text/csv

but should be something like:

Content-Type: text/xml;charset=UTF-8

so that the client doesn't have to assume the charset
Metacat - Feature #6848 (New): Add link to send another verification emailhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/68482015-09-30T16:29:26ZLauren Walkerwalker@nceas.ucsb.edu

This has been something suggested by a few users when they don't get their original verification email
Morpho - Bug #6702 (New): Import metadata indexing optionhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/67022015-03-27T21:59:28ZJessica Couturecouture@nceas.ucsb.edu

When metadata is added to a package from an external file, Morpho creates a new identifier for it rather than incrementing the existing identifier. It would be great to have the option to either add the metadata to the existing series or create a new identifier when the file is brought in.
Morpho - Bug #6701 (New): Entity descriptions can't be added outside wizardhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/67012015-03-27T21:56:52ZJessica Couturecouture@nceas.ucsb.edu

I was trying to add entity descriptions after my tables had been imported and found that there is no way to go back and access this. Can this function be added so that this can be edited outside the initial data wizard has been closed?
Morpho - Bug #6700 (New): Pub date fieldhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/67002015-03-27T21:54:54ZJessica Couturecouture@nceas.ucsb.edu

The publication data defaults to the current date and there is no way to manually set this in Morpho. Can we have one added for datasets that had been published in the past?
Morpho - Bug #6589 (New): common name in taxonomic coveragehttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/65892014-08-28T20:02:32ZJessica Couturecouture@nceas.ucsb.edu

When inputting taxonomic coverage manually there is an option to put common name but when assigning columns of names from a table, only the scientific classes are available. It would be helpful to be able to add common names from a table too.
Kepler - Bug #6588 (New): R actor does not have error for missing outputhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/65882014-08-21T20:27:56ZDaniel Crawldanielcrawl@gmail.com

If the R actor has an output port "x", but the script does not assign a value to a variable "x", then the actor should report an error. Currently, the actor successfully runs but does not write a token to the output port.
Kepler - Feature #6575 (New): reference parameters in R actor's scripthttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/65752014-07-09T21:40:18ZDaniel Crawldanielcrawl@gmail.com

It would be nice if the script in the R actor could reference parameters that were added to the R actor. Currently the R actor only converts tokens read on input ports to the R script.
Morpho - Bug #6112 (New): Use .morpho when we release the morphohttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/61122013-10-01T23:53:37ZJing Taotao@nceas.ucsb.edu

Currently the default morpho home is .morpho2. It is great for users to test morpho without change the file structure. But the real release will use .morpho as the default directory.
EML - Feature #6079 (New): Support JSON or XML output from emlparserhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/60792013-09-06T18:12:45Zben leinfelderleinfelder@nceas.ucsb.edu

The online parser servlet returns HTML, but there has been a request to support alternate output formats for programatic interactions.

Matt's proposed schema

<!ELEMENT validation (message*)>
<!ATTLIST validation type (#PCDATA) #REQUIRED>
<!ATTLIST validation status (passed | failed) #REQUIRED>
<!ELEMENT message (#PCDATA)>

and example:

MetacatUI - Feature #6049 (New): Render some SystemMetadata details in viewshttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/60492013-08-08T19:07:40Zben leinfelderleinfelder@nceas.ucsb.edu

The MetadataView should probably pull in some SystemMetadata details:
-accessPolicy
-replication information
-other general info?

I'd also like to see this drive decisions about when to show "Edit", "Delete" (registry supports these) and "Publish with DOI" buttons. Only want to show these options to users who are logged in and have access to do such things.
Morpho - Bug #6042 (New): Cannot save/synchronize Morpho data package to the networkhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/60422013-08-01T01:55:54Zunset unsetkmwolf@ucdavis.edu

Hi everyone,

I have saved a data package and completed all fields. I have tried saving it to the network (while logged in), and synchronizing, and both give me multiple errors, starting with this one:

Some problem with saving data files has occurred! <error> Permission denied for upload </error>

I am sure this is some simple thing that I am not understanding as a new user, but I would certainly appreciate some guidance. Thanks!
Metacat - Feature #6034 (New): Simplify configuration for certificate delegationhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/60342013-07-09T21:32:35Zben leinfelderleinfelder@nceas.ucsb.edu

So we don't loose this in the shuffle - we could probably fill out some of the MyProxy configuration values based on Metacat properties. But I don't think we can really generate provate keys and register nodes with CILogon...
