Redmine InfoVeg - Bug #4729 (New): Solidago faucibus crashes systemhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/47292010-02-03T17:27:00ZRobert Peetpeet@unc.edu

"Error: [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Syntax error (missing operator) in query expression 'conID in ()'. "
InfoVeg - Bug #4576 (New): Gonolobus carolinensis poiknts to Matelea c. which shows no recordshttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/45762009-11-24T13:43:24ZRobert Peetpeet@unc.edu

Recently dataqbased collections of Matelea carolinlensis are now showing up on the map
InfoVeg - Bug #4423 (New): Check Taxon occurrences where otherwise not know from statehttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/44232009-09-29T15:28:12ZRobert Peetpeet@unc.edu

Look at spreadsheet ...CVS\CVS_Occurrences\SpeciesToCheck.xlsx
which contains a page each for SC and NC. All these occurrences need to be checked and where needed corrected.
InfoVeg - Bug #2944 (New): Allow multiple concept sources in CVS datahttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/29442007-09-08T21:13:12ZRobert Peetpeet@unc.edu

We currently assign all CVS data to Weakley concepts. We will shortly revise the CVS list and replace the records in the database with new ones. Most will still be to Weakley concepts, but some will be to other concepts (primarily RAB). We need to be sure the database system can handle this. Please report what can now be done and what options might be available.
InfoVeg - Bug #2810 (Closed): Print function for maps does not workhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/28102007-04-05T19:19:15ZRobert Peetpeet@unc.edu

If in IE6 you click the printer icon under a map the program starts to generate a new map and never finishes. In contrast, if you click the printer icon in FoxFire 2, the program starts to generate a new map and then quits. This function needs to be fixed for both browsers.
InfoVeg - Bug #2790 (Closed): Incorrect stacking of map recordshttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/27902007-03-04T20:40:04ZRobert Peetpeet@unc.edu

I mapped Cleistes bifaria. I then turned off the ambiguous records and saw several previously hidden unambiguous herbarium collection records appear. This should not be the case as the unambiguous collections should have highest priority. Further examiniation showed that the problem is with the ambiguous collections of Cleistes divaricata; if this is unchecked, then everything works correctly.
InfoVeg - Bug #2783 (Closed): Tomcat crashes -- ability to support multiple users needs verficationhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/27832007-02-28T02:24:43ZRobert Peetpeet@unc.edu

As soon as I advertised the website across the CVS and rare_flora listservs, tomcat started crashing a couple times a day. I wonder whether the site can support multiple simultaneous queries. This needs to be verified.
InfoVeg - Bug #2752 (New): commit atlas to cvshttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/27522007-01-26T22:04:25ZRobert Peetpeet@unc.edu

SEEK policy is to deposit our software in cvs.ecoinformatics.org. Moreover, we are now considering a collaboration with SERNEC where we would share some development activities making it important that they have access to the code so as to have a better idea what we have really been up to.
InfoVeg - Bug #2714 (Closed): Ambiguous records no longer appear as ambiguoushttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/27142007-01-05T04:04:54ZRobert Peetpeet@unc.edu

Suddenly the site it broken. The records that used to appear as yellow no longer appear as yellow. This is a critical function that needs to be fixed immediately.
InfoVeg - Bug #2697 (Closed): Map WEWO collectionshttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/26972006-12-13T21:38:15ZRobert Peetpeet@unc.edu

Currently the Weymouth Woods Sandhills Natural Area herbarium [WEWO] records in the Specify database do not map, but do show up in the collections list. We need to add these to the mapping option.
InfoVeg - Bug #2687 (Closed): Confusing search options - need small changes for usabilityhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/26872006-12-03T16:40:45ZRobert Peetpeet@unc.edu

Tom Wieboldt writes:
"Well now, that is pretty spiffy! But I thought I should probably tell you that it didn't quite work for me as it's supposed to. When I fill in scientific name and state and hit GET TAXA (shouldn't this be "taxon", or
can you retrieve more than one?), a new screen appears with the message "No
state specified". Then I click the "Back" button, but the screen remains
the same and it starts loading data, or at least says it is, but nothing seems to be happening for a very long time. I was able to get the map and specimen data, however, by navigating to the family, genus and species. has anyone else experienced this problem?"

I think we need to change the search section to clear this up. At present it reads "Search by name" [with box] and "Search by county" [with boxes]. Change this so it says "Search for specific taxon by name" [with box], then blank line, then the word "OR" in caps and bold, then blan line, then "List all taxa by county". Some day we can add another option to search by concept whre aaafter entering the name you would slect from the list of possible sources, but that is low priority.
InfoVeg - Bug #2680 (Closed): Reformat dates on imageshttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/26802006-11-25T15:33:34ZRobert Peetpeet@unc.edu

Dates are hard to read on images. 19560831 should read 08-31-1956 as in the specimens.
InfoVeg - Bug #2639 (Closed): Inferred relationships too broadhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/26392006-11-01T15:36:52ZRobert Peetpeet@unc.edu

The Carya glabra example reveals a new bug. All of USDA and RAB map
as ambiguous. This should not be the case because the concepts of C
glabra invoked by RAB, USDA, K, & Weakley are all the same. The crux of
the problem is that the concept relationships shows
Carya glabra (Alan Weakley) <= Carya glabra (RAB)
Carya glabra (Alan Weakley) <= Carya glabra (K)

The root of the problem is that Alan did not map concepts for full species
when there were vars. Xianhua had to create a script that would deduce
the relationships for the higher order taxa. His script was not able to
decide whether the three vars of Carya glabra recognized summed to the
full species in RAB and K, or was a subset. It is not immediately clear to
me how to do this, but perhaps because the RAB glabra did not map onto any
other Weakley concepts, we could conclude that the relationship was = and
not <. I propose Xianhua tries to modify his script to correct the
concept relationships in this fashion.
InfoVeg - Bug #2637 (New): RAB records of nominal variety occurrences have incomplete namehttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/26372006-11-01T15:09:53ZRobert Peetpeet@unc.edu

Weakley writes:
Note all the yellow RAB dots for Ilex longipes, when longipes is unambiguously mapped by RAB as decisua var. longipes. It appears that all decidua dots are being treated as unambiguous.

RKP responds:
I think this is a previously undocumented bug. The crux of the problem is
that the RAB map label foir the nominal var is Ilex decidua and not Ilex decidua var decidua.

This is probably a widespread problem in the database and we need to
systematically search the Radford records for vars and make sure that the
records for the nominal varieties are so reported in the database. I
think this will be the case for every taxon where there is both the
nominal var and a named var. Xianhua should be able to do this rather simply.
InfoVeg - Bug #2634 (Closed): Data source description errorshttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/26342006-10-30T23:26:19ZRobert Peetpeet@unc.edu

Two text errors on the data source description page.

1. The NCU description should be changed to read:
"Those specimens in the University of North Carolina Herbarium(NCU) that have been databased."

2. The NCSC description should be changed to read:
"Those specimens in the North Carolina State University Herbarium (NCSC) that have been databased (to date, cultivated plants, plus NC occurrences of families Acanthaceae through Brassicaceae)."
