Redmine Morpho - Bug #2799 (Resolved): Access List doesn't include groups at LDAP roothttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/27992007-03-14T18:58:38ZWill Tyburczytyburczy@nceas.ucsb.edu

Currently, the Morpho access list in the Access Information wizard screen doesn't include groups located at the root of the LDAP tree (e.g. kepler, seek, esa-moderate). This is a problem if the user wants to grant privileges on a dp to a root-level group (esa-moderate, for example).
Metacat - Bug #2796 (Resolved): ESA registry gets locked into searching KNBhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/27962007-03-10T01:06:08ZWill Tyburczytyburczy@nceas.ucsb.edu

The ESA registry webpage gets stuck into always searching the KNB for queries after an initial search across the entire KNB. To reproduce this bug:
1) select "search ALL of KNB" and enter a search term
2) look at those results
3) use the back button on the browser
4) then select "search only ESA"

At this point, even though the controls say only to search within ESA, the search query gets sent to knb.ecoinformatics.org, rather than the ESA metacat
Kepler - Bug #2696 (Resolved): EML 2 Dataset actor needs to access local data fileshttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/26962006-12-13T20:05:06ZWill Tyburczytyburczy@nceas.ucsb.edu

The EML 2 Dataset actor currently allows the user to specify a local EML file. Once that file is specified, Kepler immediately parses the metadata and tries to improt the data files using the metadata in the distribution tag. Sinec the distribution tag always contains ecogrid:// addresses (unless the user manually edits them), Kepler always tries to download data files from the KNB at this point. This effectively prevents users from using local copies of EML data sets, as usually the data as well as the metadata will be offline.
Metacat - Bug #2647 (Resolved): ESA registry doesn't have LTER in login dropdown menuhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/26472006-11-07T23:11:54ZWill Tyburczytyburczy@nceas.ucsb.edu

The ESA data registry login page http://data.esa.org/cgi-bin/register-dataset.cgi?cfg=esa
does not include LTER in the drop down menu for organizations. This will prevent users with LTER accounts from loggin into the ESA data registry. LTER needs to be added to this menu.
EML - Bug #2568 (Resolved): Inconsistent naming of "method"(s) elementhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/25682006-10-18T22:41:17ZWill Tyburczytyburczy@nceas.ucsb.edu

The "method" element of the entity (dataTable) and attribute elements should have the same name as the "methods" element at the dataset level.
Morpho - Bug #2567 (Resolved): Can't delete local dp's on Windows XPhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/25672006-10-17T18:14:40ZWill Tyburczytyburczy@nceas.ucsb.edu

Users are currently unable to delete local copies of data sets they've created. Select "Delete" from the "File" menu, choose "delete local copy" and hit delete, then confirm the action. YOu will get a pop-up window that says "user couldn't delete local copy. This occurs regardless of whether the user is logged in or whether the dp has a data table included. This behavior only occurs on Windows machines.
Morpho - Bug #2529 (Resolved): Add Morpho Version/Date info to KNB websitehttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/25292006-08-28T18:44:10ZWill Tyburczytyburczy@nceas.ucsb.edu

The date and version number of the most recent version of morpho should be displayed by the "Quick download" links on index.jsp of the KNB website, and well as on the morphpoportal.jsp page
Morpho - Bug #2508 (Resolved): Incorrect example for relative attribute given in table wizardhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/25082006-08-02T17:00:39ZWill Tyburczytyburczy@nceas.ucsb.edu

In the new data table wizard, the example for the attribute category "relative" is currently "12.2 meters". However, meter measurements are generally absolute measurements, not relative measurements. The example of a relative attribute should instead be something like "12 degrees Celsius". This should be a quick fix, but it's important to have good examples here since the distinction between the categories is already confusing to many users.
Morpho - Bug #2502 (Resolved): Should be able to enter missingValueCode elements to dphttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/25022006-07-27T17:21:18ZWill Tyburczytyburczy@nceas.ucsb.edu

Missing value codes for attributes are something that most researchers are going to want to be able to enter. We need to support access for this element of EML in Morpho. There are two parts to this:

1) Make the "Show All" feature in the tree editor fully expand the missingValueCode element so the users can enter the codeValue and codeExplanation there

2) Add a feature to the New Data Table Wizard that allows users to enter missing value codes for each attribute.
Metacat - Bug #2501 (New): Add links to FGDC-tranformed version of EML documentshttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/25012006-07-27T16:51:32ZWill Tyburczytyburczy@nceas.ucsb.edu

When viewing EML documents, the user should be provided with a link (under "Metadata Downloads") that gives the EML-to-FGDC transformed version of the metadata.
Morpho - Bug #2500 (New): Tree Editor allows text in element-only elementshttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/25002006-07-27T16:41:25ZWill Tyburczytyburczy@nceas.ucsb.edu

If you click, "Show All" in Morpho, the expansion of the EML is truncated at some point for performance reasons. However, there is no indication where this truncation has occurred, and users are allowed to enter text into elements which should only contain other elements, since they appear as leaf nodes. This ends up with the user unknowingly generating invalid EML. Morpho needs to prevent users from being able to enter text in elements that should only contain other elements.
Morpho - Bug #2498 (Resolved): Change default metacat URLhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/24982006-07-20T23:29:08ZWill Tyburczytyburczy@nceas.ucsb.edu

The default Metacat URL in the Morpho preferences should be http://knb.ecoinformatics.org/knb/metacat instead of http://knb.ecoinformatics.org/knb/servlet/metacat
Morpho - Bug #2492 (Resolved): Morpho Data Table Wizard inserts false URL when describing (not im...https://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/24922006-07-17T19:01:20ZWill Tyburczytyburczy@nceas.ucsb.edu

If you use the Data Table Wizard in Morpho to describe (not import or create) a data table, Morpho will insert a value of "ecogrid://..." for the eml>dataset>dataTable>physical>distribution>online>url element, even though that document doesn't exist (and shouldn't exist) on the KNB. If the user doesn't create or import a dataTable, no ecogrid URL should be generated since the data isn't on the KNB. See bowdish.217.2 for an example of a data package with this problem.
Morpho - Bug #2473 (In Progress): Morpho uses too much memoryhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/24732006-06-27T18:12:08ZWill Tyburczytyburczy@nceas.ucsb.edu

Currently, Morpho needs 512M of RAM to run successfully. If it is set to a lower value, Morpho will freeze in the Data Table Wizard when importing a table with many columns.
Morpho - Bug #2463 (New): Morpho can't delete or insert columns at right edge of tables with unev...https://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/24632006-06-16T20:22:21ZWill Tyburczytyburczy@nceas.ucsb.edu

To recreate this bug:
- Using a text-editor, create a tab-delimited (or otherwise delimited) file in which lines have different numbers of fields (i.e. if a particular line doesn't have a value for the last field, it simply inserts a newline, without putting in the last tab to signify an empty field).

- Create a dp in morpho and import the file as a dataTable.
- Save the dp (optional)
- Try to delete the one of the rightmost columns (far enough to the right that some of the lines in the file didn't have a tab character recording the value of the field)

The column operation will fail, though if you go into the tree editor at this point you can see that the metadata was changed to reflect the operation. This could lead to the column metadata being mispaired to the corresponding column values.

Morpho should either detect the uneven line lengths and refuse to import the table to begin with (giving the user notification of why), or it should be able to handle subsequent column operations on the table.
