Redmine Bug #4918 (New): New feature request (inter-related multi-part questions)https://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/49182010-03-31T03:12:09ZSandeep Namilikondasandeep.namilikonda@gmail.com
<p>A multi-part question can sometimes be framed in such a way that the answer <br />to an earlier part could serve as the basis for the subsequent parts (questions).<br />Two issues can be thought off.<br />a) Does each part need to have the text corresponding to all the preceding parts<br /> in order to put the question in context?<br />b) When a user's search on the FIRST web interface returns specific assessment <br /> items (unlike the whole assessments being returned currently) and one of those<br /> items happens to be a part of a multi-part question, would it be possible for the<br /> user to be able to retrieve the related parts (and all the possible responses for<br /> inter-dependent parts, if need be) just by a click of a button?</p>
<p>Please list any potential solutions/suggestions as comments in reply to this report.</p> Bug #4917 (New): Parsed multi-part questions aren't saved/retrieved correctlyhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/49172010-03-31T02:07:23ZSandeep Namilikondasandeep.namilikonda@gmail.com
<p>When the parser detects a multi-part question (or the user creates one), <br />it is saved without any errors popping up. But, when the assessment is re-opened<br />the multi-part is retrieved as separate single-part questions and the question text<br />was missing.</p> Bug #4875 (New): Unintended text displayed on EdMLDataviewContainerPanelhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/48752010-03-10T23:34:12ZSandeep Namilikondasandeep.namilikonda@gmail.com
<p>When an assessment package is opened using the Morpho interface,<br />the "Data Package Documentation" page displays a script snippet<br />and a couple of non-functional icons:</p>
<p>script type="text/JavaScript" language="JavaScript"> insertTemplateOpening(''); insertSearchBox('');</p>
<p>Not a deal-breaker. It just has to be suppressed.</p> Bug #4726 (New): Re-sizing parser's main and original document windows froze the morpho applicationhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/47262010-02-02T22:48:53ZSandeep Namilikondasandeep.namilikonda@gmail.com
<p>This bug is very specific to computers with certain limitations on computational<br />resources such as system memory being shared as video memory. At least, the<br />system on which this problem surfaced consistently had such a configuration.<br />Further details of the system specifications follow:</p>
<p>Toshiba laptop with AMD Turion X2 Mobile 1.6 GHz with 894 MB of RAM, ATI Radeon X1200, 128 MB video mem, VISTA O/S</p>
<p>This bug is only filed for documentation purposes currently.</p> Bug #4725 (New): Out of order question numbers can cause faulty question recognitionhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/47252010-02-02T21:56:52ZSandeep Namilikondasandeep.namilikonda@gmail.com
<p>Exams with question numbers that are out of order (which may be caused due to<br />instructor adding or deleting questions from the original (word) document) can<br />make the parser merge multiple questions into one question.</p>
<p>We know that this behavior is a direct consequence of the pre-condition for our<br />question recognition algorithm to work!</p>
<p>Probably, in the next version, a more robust algorithm could be employed to<br />handle cases like the one above.</p> Bug #4435 (In Progress): The "Assign" button is de-activated if both response and score are sele...https://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/44352009-10-06T05:52:23ZJay Leeleejon20@msu.edu
<p>When both score and response are selected when student data in PDF file, the "Assign" button is de-activated.</p>
<p>after importing the student data in Excel format, I tried to import the student response data in PDF files that have all qeustion for each student . then i choose the PDF files, then choose the both option, scores and response. then choose the option "one file for each stduent. then the "assign" button on the next screen is de-actiavted. so you can't assign the PDF file to each student. if i just select one option either scores or response, there is no problem to assign PDF file to each student.</p>
<p>The same thing happens when i choose the second option "one file for each question".</p>
<p>There is no problem when i selected the third option "None of Above" which could import the one PDF file that has all items and students as well.</p>

<p>Suppose a data package has undergone a number of revisions, say v1 - v10.</p>
<p>Opening an older revision of an assessment, say v6, making a few changes<br />and saving it would overwrites the existing v7.</p>
<p>So, effectively, an older version has been overwritten. But, the latest revision<br />for that assessment in the list of data packages under Morpho is still v10. If you close and open the datapackage, it still opens v10, which is not the most current one (v7 is). <br />This behavior is counter intuitive.</p>
<p>Further, we notice that making changes to v6 and saving it as v7 automatically<br />disables revisions v8 and v9. This is in line with the expected behavior. Yet,<br />the latest revision getting a number v7 and overwriting the older copy of v7<br />should be deemed absolutely faulty. Ideally, v8, v9, and v10 should be <br />disabled/deleted or revisions to v6 should result in v11.</p> Bug #4375 (Resolved): item metadata not serializing correctly (Metadata items not faithfully retr...https://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/43752009-09-10T16:50:39Zben leinfelderleinfelder@nceas.ucsb.edu
<p>first saw this on download - but looked into the QTI XML and it looks like the vocabulary is being incorrectly populated with the actual term.<br />Here is a snippet that illustrates the serialized metadata:<br />----------<br /><itemmetadata> <br /><qtimetadata> <br /><vocabulary uri=" " vocab_type="text/xml">polymers</vocabulary><br /> <qtimetadatafield> <br /> <qti:fieldlabel>Concept</qti:fieldlabel><br /> <qti:fieldentry>polymers</qti:fieldentry><br /> </qtimetadatafield><br /> </qtimetadata><br /> </itemmetadata><br />----------<br />the <vocabulary> tag should have the actual vocabulary from which the term was selected.</p> Bug #4146 (New): Allow for multiple responses (check all that apply) for MultipleChoiceResponseItemhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/41462009-06-11T15:26:05ZRyan McFallmcfall@hope.edu
<p>In MultipleChoiceResponseItem.generateXML, there is a possibility of allowing multiple responses. However, the code below doesn't make a lot of sense:</p>
<p>if(multipleResponses){<br /> xml.append("<response_lid ident = \"Q"+id+"\" rcardinality = \"Multiple\" rtiming = \"No\">\n");<br /> xml.append("<render_choice shuffle = \"Yes\" minnumber = \"1\" maxnumber = \"4\">\n");<br />}</p>
<p>In particular, the maxnumber attribute is just an arbitrary number, and so there needs to be a way for the user to specify this.</p> Bug #4145 (Resolved): Mouse cusor moves up to other question B when user try to add image into q...https://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/41452009-06-11T02:38:44ZJay Leeleejon20@msu.edu
<p>this thing happens on the verson of morphus that Ryan made last time.</p>
<p>whenever i try to add iamge in to question, for example like question 40, the mouse cursor moves to question like 10. and i could not scroll down window pane to add that image to question 40.</p>
<p>This problem apply to all the exam i parsed so far.</p> Bug #4127 (Resolved): When image is added question, the mouse cursor moves to other questionhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/41272009-06-03T17:00:41ZJay Leeleejon20@msu.edu
<p>Finl Exam Fall 2002</p>
<p>Image drop function is not working properly for question 81,82,83, and 84, when I tried to add image into question 81, The Mouse cusor moved to other question(q58) and it did not let me scroll down the questions so I can not add the image into question 81. When I moved image back to image pane, question 81 comes back to place.</p> Bug #4045 (Resolved): Incorrect use of <item> elements in QTIhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/40452009-05-01T19:42:55Zben leinfelderleinfelder@nceas.ucsb.edu
<p>While researching a different bug, it came to my attention that there are cases in which the parser is generating QTI documents with multiple <item> elements.<br />This is not how we had intended to use the QTI specification - even for multipart questions.<br />When there are multiple <item> elements in the QTI, I get an error and the parser cannot reopen for editing the questions.<br />See: private/samples/Fall05-Exam3.pdf<br />Question 16 does this.</p>
<p>Is anyone aware of when this shift in QTI usage occurred? We are not set up to handling it - client nor server.</p> Bug #4024 (Resolved): Image drop target disappears after deleting last image from a response itemhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/40242009-04-24T13:24:39ZRyan McFallmcfall@hope.edu
<p>Steps to reproduce:</p>
<p>Turn on "Show images" using the button at the top of a question. Drag a question onto the appropriate prompt text or drop target. Then, remove the image using the remove button. At this point, the "Show images" button will still say "Hide Images", but the box saying "Drag a new image here" will not be shown.</p> Bug #3989 (Resolved): Garbled text in questions and missing choices!https://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/39892009-04-20T02:58:16ZJay Leeleejon20@msu.edu
<p>for the questions 31, 32, 33, 34, 35 from Exam 3 fall 2005, parser does not recognize the paragrah correctly. it does scan the questions but the text itself messed up. for example, if the orginal question is " which of answer is about the process of metabolisim? then parser recognize like "process of meta which of answer is bolisim about the. " <br />and parser have a trouble to scane choice E. it does not scan entire sentence. it just scan partial part of sentence.</p> Bug #3981 (Resolved): In case of Word has a footer or header before converted to PDF filehttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/39812009-04-13T20:10:13ZJay Leeleejon20@msu.edu
<p>When Word file has a footer or header, PDF converter just converts it as a text so parser has a trouble to recognize the question number and order. <br />this problem associated to Final exam file from Fall 2004. <br />when i did parse this file, i removed the footer before converted it to PDF format. then, there is no problem to recognize the questions.</p>
