Redmine Bug #5038 (Resolved): Assessment items not displayed on the websitehttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/50382010-06-03T14:44:34ZSandeep Namilikondasandeep.namilikonda@gmail.com

Assessments uploaded to the Bespin server via Morpho are visible under Morpho
interface as a saved data package. But, the same assessment is shown to have
ZERO items when viewed on the FIRST website!

e.g., 2007F_BS111_Exam1 (moyerbrailean.452.18) and Jay_BS111_2007Fall_Exam1 (jlee.4079.4)

This happens especially when an assessment is re-opened for edits and saved
on to the server.
Bug #4901 (Resolved): Web interface does not display assessments!https://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/49012010-03-24T14:44:15ZSandeep Namilikondasandeep.namilikonda@gmail.com

The "Browse All Assessments" option on the FIRST website hosted by the
EGR server is corrupt/flawed currently. Instead of displaying a list of
links to various assessments, it displays a concatenated string of the
name of the various assessments. My guess is that the XML parser that
generates suitable HTML to be displayed is not properly functioning.
Even logging in as a valid user doesn't seem to change the behavior.

Another thing I noticed was that when a user logs in, the browser link
displayed is http://www.egr.msu.edu/first/metacat and the page display
shows:
Authentication successful for user: uid=namilikonda,o=MSU,dc=ecoinformatics,dc=org 58F85F0FFE9DD361CFD4ED520D044E80

Further, when a user goes back to the main page and clicks on
"Browse All Assessments", the following information is displayed and
all the navigation buttons disappear.

Assessments that are created and saved on to the network using Morpho
and later reopened on the same machine as the one used for creating it,
by the same user, display the assessment items, corresponding images,
and the original document, correctly. But, when a different machine
is used or when a different user tries to open the same assessment,
all the images (irrespective of if they are in the foils or not)
go missing!

The XML documents corresponding to the assessment items do seem to
have valid Ecogrid URIs.
Reopening an assessment can result in missing images when those images are the choices of a question and if they had to be hand-picked by the user during the initial steps of parsing (i.e., selection of vector images).

A potential cause for the problem might be the lack of proper (pointer) information in the XML file about the location of the images corresponding to a question when those images themselves are the choices.
Bug #4585 (Resolved): Parser fails to launch from within Morpho!https://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/45852009-11-26T01:39:49ZSandeep Namilikondasandeep.namilikonda@gmail.com

Jay created a new assessment called Permission Test 1 with 8 questions,
each of which had one or more meta data associated with. We then looked at
four places to confirm that meta data was being retrieved correctly.
a) XML file saved locally
b) The parser interface when the assessment is re-opened
c) On the FIRST website by viewing the details about an assessment, and
d) Downloaded data package.

Case 1: Multiple Bloom and NBII metadata added

Five distinct metadata items on the whole added to the assessment.

Q1 has both bloom and nbii items

- XML file: No errors
- Parser: No errors (all meta data displayed correctly)
- Website: No errors (all meta data displayed correctly when the
details link is clicked)
- Download: * One item is completely missing
* For another item, the thesarus category is completely
missing and all the questions have a TRUE value in that
row!

Incorrectly retrieving metadata on the transpose
e.g., missing items, missing metadata class, and
incorrect association of meta data to
questions

Non-transpose data set missing meta data items on
multiple questions. Although, there were questions
for which one meta data per source (Bloom and NBII)
was listed.

Case 2: Multiple Bloom, NBII, and manually added meta data to Permission Test 1

- XML file: No errors
- Parser: No errors
- Website: No errors
- Download: Similar errors as above

Bug #4451 (Resolved): Permissions granted cannot seem to be revokablehttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/44512009-10-14T21:16:14ZSandeep Namilikondasandeep.namilikonda@gmail.com

Two types of permissions can be set via Morpho interface
a) Under Documentation -> Access information

This option allows user to grant access to the assessment items.
So, this would enable a user to view assessment items on the
website.

b) Under Data -> Edit data access

This option is used to grant permission to download student
score and response data.

Test case 1: Permission granted to a single user to view assessment items only

- The user could successfully view the assessment items on the
website. Further, the user could also download the student data,
which should not have been the case.

Test case 2: Permission revoked by explicitly choosing the user's name
from the drop down list and opting to "deny" access

- The user was still able to view as well as download assessment

Test case 3: Permission granted to a group (FIRST group)

- All the auhtorized members of FIRST group were able to access
the assessment.
- Similar to Test case 2, revoking the access does not seem to
affect the user's ability to view and download assessment!

Test case 4: Public and private access seems appropriately functional

- Once public access is granted for an assessment, it remains
that way even if we explicitly change the access rights to private.

PS: The above trials were run on "Permission Test 1"
Bug #4389 (Resolved): "Edit Metadata Fields" option does not allow clearing out already selected ...https://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/43892009-09-16T04:48:22ZSandeep Namilikondasandeep.namilikonda@gmail.com

When a data package is added to the data cart and user chooses to edit the
metadata fields that get displayed in the downloaded .csv file, a user
does not have an option to discard all or a few of the fields already selected.
In fact, once a few fields are selected and the "save selection" option is
selected, the user has to select at least one field in order to change the
selection any further.
Bug #4387 (Resolved): Query search, based on item-level metadata fails!https://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/43872009-09-14T15:56:35ZSandeep Namilikondasandeep.namilikonda@gmail.com

It does not appear that queries are searching item-level meta data.

For a test case created by Jay to test retrieval of assessments based on item level meta data (jlee.2758.*), with Bloom meta data associated with each item
when it was uploaded. The downloaded package actually shows all the meta data.

But, when we query for Bloom meta data (e.g., Evaluation) the server returns
"0 items found" when the item with qid jlee.2764_1 clearly has that meta data
associated.

Then, Jay associated a keyword "Comprehension" to the assessment itself and
uploaded the revised package. Now, when we perform a query with search string
"Comprehension" under Keyword field, the relevant document was retrieved showing
that the server was only searching assessment level meta data.
Bug #4386 (Resolved): Trouble loading assessment items!https://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/43862009-09-14T15:34:46ZSandeep Namilikondasandeep.namilikonda@gmail.com

When a user clicks on an assessment to view its metadata and item details
on FIRST website, there is no option on the new page generated to actually
add that assessment to the data cart.
While using http://www.egr.msu.edu/first website, we noticed that a user is able
to browse through various assessments that have been uploaded, add any assessment of interest to the data cart, and also view the assessment items by clicking the "details" tab. But, when we try to download the student response data corresponding to the assessment as a ".csv" file, the download seldom takes place for assessments of reasonable size. For example, Jay had uploaded two
assessments called "2005 Fall Exam 2" and "2002 Fall Final" with 396 students and 50 questions (items) and 8 students and 84 items, respectively. With both of these assessments, when the user clicks the download link,
after a large amount of waiting time, probably 5-10 minutes, the server eventually displays a blank page with the URL ending in download.jsp.

On the other hand, a couple of test assessments, one with 14 students and 3 items and other with 2 students and 2 items, the download feature worked fine
although a significant delay was noticed when Ryan tried to download them on his computer using a Firefox browser.
Bug #4011 (Resolved): Double digit question numbers appear as single digit!https://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/40112009-04-22T05:27:26ZSandeep Namilikondasandeep.namilikonda@gmail.com

First noticed while parsing Fall05-Exam3.pdf;
