Redmine Bug #5038 (Resolved): Assessment items not displayed on the websitehttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/50382010-06-03T14:44:34ZSandeep Namilikondasandeep.namilikonda@gmail.com

Assessments uploaded to the Bespin server via Morpho are visible under Morpho
interface as a saved data package. But, the same assessment is shown to have
ZERO items when viewed on the FIRST website!

e.g., 2007F_BS111_Exam1 (moyerbrailean.452.18) and Jay_BS111_2007Fall_Exam1 (jlee.4079.4)

This happens especially when an assessment is re-opened for edits and saved
on to the server.
Bug #4863 (Resolved): Assessments saved on the server and opened on a non-local machine do not di...https://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/48632010-03-02T23:13:58ZSandeep Namilikondasandeep.namilikonda@gmail.com

Assessments that are created and saved on to the network using Morpho
and later reopened on the same machine as the one used for creating it,
by the same user, display the assessment items, corresponding images,
and the original document, correctly. But, when a different machine
is used or when a different user tries to open the same assessment,
all the images (irrespective of if they are in the foils or not)
go missing!

The XML documents corresponding to the assessment items do seem to
have valid Ecogrid URIs. Ideally, the Morpho interface should be able
to access the image from the server and display it in conjunction to
the local copy of the XML document. So, why doesn't this happen?
Bug #4536 (Resolved): IE6 causes socket connection error on downloadhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/45362009-11-06T20:52:51Zben leinfelderleinfelder@nceas.ucsb.edu

When a data package is added to the data cart and user chooses to edit the
metadata fields that get displayed in the downloaded .csv file, a user
does not have an option to discard all or a few of the fields already selected.
In fact, once a few fields are selected and the "save selection" option is
selected, the user has to select at least one field in order to change the
selection any further.
Bug #4385 (Resolved): FIRST website usability issue: Cannot add an assessment to datacart from a ...https://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/43852009-09-14T14:32:25ZSandeep Namilikondasandeep.namilikonda@gmail.com

When a user clicks on an assessment to view its metadata and item details
on FIRST website, there is no option on the new page generated to actually
add that assessment to the data cart. The user has to go back to the page that
displays the list of assessments to be able to add it to the data cart, which is
not that user-friendly!
Bug #4384 (Resolved): "Browse All Assessments" on FIRST website generates http error prior to loginhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/43842009-09-14T14:11:44ZSandeep Namilikondasandeep.namilikonda@gmail.com

On http://www.egr.msu.edu/first/, when a user clicks on the
"Browse All Assessments" link prior to logging in, the server generates the
following error in a pop-up window: "failure making ajax call" followed by the
following message on the page:

HTTP Status 500 -

type Exception report
message
description The server encountered an internal error () that prevented it from fulfilling this request.
exception
java.lang.NullPointerException
edu.ucsb.nceas.metacat.MetaCatServlet.handleGetOrPost(MetaCatServlet.java:843)
edu.ucsb.nceas.metacat.MetaCatServlet.doPost(MetaCatServlet.java:521)
javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:637)
javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:717)
org.vfny.geoserver.filters.SetCharacterEncodingFilter.doFilter(SetCharacterEncodingFilter.java:122)
note The full stack trace of the root cause is available in the Apache Tomcat/6.0.18 logs.

Note that this functionality was previously working fine. We have consistently noticed this behavior on various browsers.
Bug #4376 (Resolved): "?column?" appears as the header for last foil in downloaded datahttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/43762009-09-10T17:42:49Zben leinfelderleinfelder@nceas.ucsb.edu

when downloading an assessment with a mix of questions, we sometimes see the ?column? label show as the last foil.
This will happen when the "first" question that we select does not have a foil (say there are A-D options for this first question, but other questions include a 5th (E) option).
This should not affect the returned data, except that it may be confusing. Because of how the download query is generated, it's not immediately clear how we can prevent this from happening (especially since every assessment or set of assessments can be very different).
Bug #3876 (Resolved): data download format in CSV filehttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/38762009-03-10T18:27:27ZJay Leeleejon20@msu.edu

Mark here on Jay's account as I don't seem to have a bugzilla ID....

Downloaded CSV files from the datacart are not rectangular, they are normalized. We discussed this several times. Faculty need a rectangular dataset even though it offends database sensibilities.
Bug #3870 (Resolved): assesment datahttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/38702009-03-08T22:39:47ZJay Leeleejon20@msu.edu

After today's meeting, they indicated that the "FIRST II" should have the numerals removed (since we're technically on the 4th round of funding...).
Additionally, they'd like to have it read like so:

FIRST Assessment Database
Faculty Institutes for Reforming Science Teaching

Hopefully we can preserve the boy with the looking glass. maybe three lines of text is called for. I think "FIRST" can be in the largest font size, and "Assessment Database" can be a bit smaller - but larger than the current spelled-out FIRST acronym.
