Redmine Bug #4918 (New): New feature request (inter-related multi-part questions)https://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/49182010-03-31T03:12:09ZSandeep Namilikondasandeep.namilikonda@gmail.com
<p>A multi-part question can sometimes be framed in such a way that the answer <br />to an earlier part could serve as the basis for the subsequent parts (questions).<br />Two issues can be thought off.<br />a) Does each part need to have the text corresponding to all the preceding parts<br /> in order to put the question in context?<br />b) When a user's search on the FIRST web interface returns specific assessment <br /> items (unlike the whole assessments being returned currently) and one of those<br /> items happens to be a part of a multi-part question, would it be possible for the<br /> user to be able to retrieve the related parts (and all the possible responses for<br /> inter-dependent parts, if need be) just by a click of a button?</p>
<p>Please list any potential solutions/suggestions as comments in reply to this report.</p> Bug #4726 (New): Re-sizing parser's main and original document windows froze the morpho applicationhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/47262010-02-02T22:48:53ZSandeep Namilikondasandeep.namilikonda@gmail.com
<p>This bug is very specific to computers with certain limitations on computational<br />resources such as system memory being shared as video memory. At least, the<br />system on which this problem surfaced consistently had such a configuration.<br />Further details of the system specifications follow:</p>
<p>Toshiba laptop with AMD Turion X2 Mobile 1.6 GHz with 894 MB of RAM, ATI Radeon X1200, 128 MB video mem, VISTA O/S</p>
<p>This bug is only filed for documentation purposes currently.</p> Bug #4725 (New): Out of order question numbers can cause faulty question recognitionhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/47252010-02-02T21:56:52ZSandeep Namilikondasandeep.namilikonda@gmail.com
<p>Exams with question numbers that are out of order (which may be caused due to<br />instructor adding or deleting questions from the original (word) document) can<br />make the parser merge multiple questions into one question.</p>
<p>We know that this behavior is a direct consequence of the pre-condition for our<br />question recognition algorithm to work!</p>
<p>Probably, in the next version, a more robust algorithm could be employed to<br />handle cases like the one above.</p> Bug #4146 (New): Allow for multiple responses (check all that apply) for MultipleChoiceResponseItemhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/41462009-06-11T15:26:05ZRyan McFallmcfall@hope.edu
<p>In MultipleChoiceResponseItem.generateXML, there is a possibility of allowing multiple responses. However, the code below doesn't make a lot of sense:</p>
<p>if(multipleResponses){<br /> xml.append("<response_lid ident = \"Q"+id+"\" rcardinality = \"Multiple\" rtiming = \"No\">\n");<br /> xml.append("<render_choice shuffle = \"Yes\" minnumber = \"1\" maxnumber = \"4\">\n");<br />}</p>
<p>In particular, the maxnumber attribute is just an arbitrary number, and so there needs to be a way for the user to specify this.</p> Bug #3971 (New): The original PDF document does not open when you reopen parsed items under Data ...https://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/39712009-04-10T17:35:49ZJay Leeleejon20@msu.edu
<p>After completed the parsing and saved it to local, if i open data package again and open the assessment items, which is menu under documetation, the original documetation does not show up. is it natural or something that we need to fix it?</p> Bug #3867 (New): adding question numberhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/38672009-03-08T20:55:52ZJay Leeleejon20@msu.edu
<p>when we add question, is there any way we can assign the question number?</p> Bug #3821 (New): Cannot launch parser within Morpho when using Java 1.6https://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/38212009-02-17T23:54:23Zben leinfelderleinfelder@nceas.ucsb.edu
<p>We're finding this happens with Java 1.6 on both Window XP and Windows Vista.<br />The JPedal classes are not being found by the classloader from within the AWT-EventQueue thread (weird!).</p> Bug #3664 (New): Allow exception pages for header/footer selectionshttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/36642008-11-13T12:06:02ZRyan McFallmcfall@hope.edu
<p>When the user deletes a selection of type header/footer, we should ask them whether they want to delete it on all pages, or just on that page.</p>
<p>This means we'll need to store an exception list, or to convert the header footer selection into individual selections. The second is probably easier to write, but potentially more annoying to the user if they subsequently want to delete all of the headers/footers.</p> Bug #3661 (New): Add ability to show bounding boxes around vector imageshttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/36612008-11-13T11:54:15ZRyan McFallmcfall@hope.edu
<p>At this stage we won't attempt to auto-combine them, but we should at least be able to show where the vector images are so that users know what they are looking for.</p> Bug #3627 (New): May need way to select image from original document while editing questionshttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/36272008-11-12T11:45:21ZRyan McFallmcfall@hope.edu
<p>Consider page 3 of Exam3BS110s08dem.pdf, which has a food chain above question 6a. This food chain, unfortunately, seems to have been "drawn" completely with text. The line (probably hyphens) is included in choice (c) of question 5, but then the actual text of the food chain is included after choice (b) of question 6.</p>
<p>The text can be deleted, but then the food chain is not included at all.</p> Bug #3624 (New): Show details about active selection in SelectIndividualTexthttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/36242008-11-11T14:55:31ZRyan McFallmcfall@hope.edu
<p>Right now the notion of the current selection tool and information about the active selection are combined.</p>
<p>I think it would be better to have the "toolbar" containing selection tools at the top of this page, along with the "ignore this page" button. Then information about the active selection could be shown where the current tools are, allowing the type to be changed, and to give more information about the selection (such as the pattern for a pattern selection). In this case, we can use a combo box to display the type of selection in order to minimize the space required.</p>
<p>Some feedback from team members on this one would be helpful.</p> Bug #3469 (New): Need a "find" feature in the MainWindow GUIhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/34692008-08-14T18:16:51ZRyan McFallmcfall@hope.edu
<p>When some question text doesn't appear where you expect it to be, it would be very nice to have a find feature that finds it within the questions list so that you can copy/paste it.</p> Bug #3353 (New): ResponseItem subclasses do not write answers to XMLhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/33532008-06-02T17:17:26ZBridger Hamiltonbridger.hamilton@hope.edu
<p>Several of the classes that override the ResponseItem abstract method generateXML have the ability to store a correct answer. None of them, however, include this in the XML representation they generate.</p> Bug #3311 (New): Delete old auto-save fileshttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/33112008-05-22T14:16:56ZRyan McFallmcfall@hope.edu
<p>If an auto-save file cannot be loaded for some reason, delete it.</p> Bug #3307 (New): Deal with student data in columns betterhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/33072008-05-22T11:13:52ZRyan McFallmcfall@hope.edu
<p>There are several screens that need to be fixed to deal with student data being in columns rather than rows:<br />1. DataTypeSpecification<br />2. IdentifyStudentColumn<br />3. CheckForEquallySpacedColumns<br />4. LabelDataColumns</p>
