Redmine Bug #5053 (New): Attempt to download either yields empty file or throws an error (Bespin)https://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/50532010-06-18T12:22:13ZSandeep Namilikondasandeep.namilikonda@gmail.com

Assessment has 50 items and displays all metadata on the website.
But, any attempt to download it seems to fail.
For example, with one metadata item chosen to be downloaded, a download
results in an empty .csv file to be returned.
When I increased this number, to say 10, then attempt to download
transpose or non-transpose resulted in the following error:

Packages saved on to the server are incorrectly reported as not saved
in Morpho. e.g.,2007F_BS111_Exam1 (moyerbrailean.452.18)

Also, when a user revises an assessment package's content such as
modifying student data and re-uploads, the server throws a revision error
on the lines of "Document not found for accession number .. "
Bug #4999 (New): FIRST Website download and missing metadata issueshttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/49992010-05-12T01:18:36ZSandeep Namilikondasandeep.namilikonda@gmail.com

Features that used to function well seem to give inconsistent and incorrect
results. In an attempt to test the download feature on the FIRST website,
Jay synchronized an already existing package onto his laptop using Morpho,
made nominal edits, and saved it back on to the server so that he could
then try and download it from the website. Here are the issues he encountered.

1) When the duplicate package was uploaded to the server, the server complained
about the assessment item ID (or revision number?) being smaller than
the copy that was already on the server.

So, Jay saved the package again to get around the issue.

2) Once the package was on the server, he checked on the website to view the
contents of the package. Surprisingly, he found the meta data missing from
the duplicate package as well as the original package.

3) When he tried to download the duplicate package, he was only able to
download the transposed form of it.

4) Later, Jay uploaded another duplicate package, this time without any
metadata included. The upload made all the items from the original
package not to appear on the website until Jay reopened the original
package using Morpho and saved it back to the network.

Further attempts to download any of the packages led to ArrayOutOfBounds
exception.
Bug #4918 (New): New feature request (inter-related multi-part questions)https://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/49182010-03-31T03:12:09ZSandeep Namilikondasandeep.namilikonda@gmail.com

A multi-part question can sometimes be framed in such a way that the answer
to an earlier part could serve as the basis for the subsequent parts (questions).
Two issues can be thought off.
a) Does each part need to have the text corresponding to all the preceding parts
in order to put the question in context?
b) When a user's search on the FIRST web interface returns specific assessment
items (unlike the whole assessments being returned currently) and one of those
items happens to be a part of a multi-part question, would it be possible for the
user to be able to retrieve the related parts (and all the possible responses for
inter-dependent parts, if need be) just by a click of a button?

Please list any potential solutions/suggestions as comments in reply to this report.
Bug #4917 (New): Parsed multi-part questions aren't saved/retrieved correctlyhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/49172010-03-31T02:07:23ZSandeep Namilikondasandeep.namilikonda@gmail.com

When the parser detects a multi-part question (or the user creates one),
it is saved without any errors popping up. But, when the assessment is re-opened
the multi-part is retrieved as separate single-part questions and the question text
was missing.
Bug #4875 (New): Unintended text displayed on EdMLDataviewContainerPanelhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/48752010-03-10T23:34:12ZSandeep Namilikondasandeep.namilikonda@gmail.com

When an assessment package is opened using the Morpho interface,
the "Data Package Documentation" page displays a script snippet
and a couple of non-functional icons:

script type="text/JavaScript" language="JavaScript"> insertTemplateOpening(''); insertSearchBox('');

Not a deal-breaker. It just has to be suppressed.
Bug #4861 (New): NBII Connectivity Issueshttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/48612010-03-02T21:55:27ZSandeep Namilikondasandeep.namilikonda@gmail.com

When a user tries to associate a category from NBII vocabulary to an item,
an error message pops-up complaining about not being able to load the vocabulary.
It seems this problem could be reproduced when the user is trying to connect
to the server from a crowded network or at a busy time of the day.

It appears to be a network load issue, which could be confirmed if the
"timeout" or "number of retries" variable were to be extended.
Bug #4726 (New): Re-sizing parser's main and original document windows froze the morpho applicationhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/47262010-02-02T22:48:53ZSandeep Namilikondasandeep.namilikonda@gmail.com

This bug is very specific to computers with certain limitations on computational
resources such as system memory being shared as video memory. At least, the
system on which this problem surfaced consistently had such a configuration.
Further details of the system specifications follow:

Toshiba laptop with AMD Turion X2 Mobile 1.6 GHz with 894 MB of RAM, ATI Radeon X1200, 128 MB video mem, VISTA O/S

This bug is only filed for documentation purposes currently.
Bug #4725 (New): Out of order question numbers can cause faulty question recognitionhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/47252010-02-02T21:56:52ZSandeep Namilikondasandeep.namilikonda@gmail.com

Exams with question numbers that are out of order (which may be caused due to
instructor adding or deleting questions from the original (word) document) can
make the parser merge multiple questions into one question.

We know that this behavior is a direct consequence of the pre-condition for our
question recognition algorithm to work!

Probably, in the next version, a more robust algorithm could be employed to
handle cases like the one above.
Bug #4435 (In Progress): The "Assign" button is de-activated if both response and score are sele...https://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/44352009-10-06T05:52:23ZJay Leeleejon20@msu.edu

When both score and response are selected when student data in PDF file, the "Assign" button is de-activated.

after importing the student data in Excel format, I tried to import the student response data in PDF files that have all qeustion for each student . then i choose the PDF files, then choose the both option, scores and response. then choose the option "one file for each stduent. then the "assign" button on the next screen is de-actiavted. so you can't assign the PDF file to each student. if i just select one option either scores or response, there is no problem to assign PDF file to each student.

The same thing happens when i choose the second option "one file for each question".

There is no problem when i selected the third option "None of Above" which could import the one PDF file that has all items and students as well.

When the parser throws a runtime exception during parsing, the whole process basically comes to a halt and nothing happens. We need to catch these exceptions in the extract/parse process and at least give the user as many questions as possible. We'll also need to keep a list of the questions that errors are thrown on and use this list to give feedback to the user indicating where things might have gone wrong.
Bug #3866 (In Progress): Undo does not work on question type change actionhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/38662009-03-08T20:53:43ZJay Leeleejon20@msu.edu

when undo button is clicked, it's not actually doing the right job. it does not go back to previous stage but some point, and it messed up somehow.
Bug #3810 (In Progress): PDF document being viewed does not maximize when the window is maximized.https://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/38102009-02-06T01:31:21ZSandeep Namilikondasandeep.namilikonda@gmail.com

Once a PDF document is loaded into text/header/footer filtering wizard, the document does not scale with increase in the window size.
Bug #3716 (In Progress): Selected rectangle can have its origin moved above the top of the documenthttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/37162008-12-29T12:20:48ZRyan McFallmcfall@hope.edu

When moving a selected rectangle, the top of the rectangle is allowed to be moved so that it has a negative coordinate. This should be disallowed.

It's likely that the same problem exists when the rectangle is moved left and right.
Bug #3664 (New): Allow exception pages for header/footer selectionshttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/36642008-11-13T12:06:02ZRyan McFallmcfall@hope.edu

When the user deletes a selection of type header/footer, we should ask them whether they want to delete it on all pages, or just on that page.

This means we'll need to store an exception list, or to convert the header footer selection into individual selections. The second is probably easier to write, but potentially more annoying to the user if they subsequently want to delete all of the headers/footers.
