Redmine Bug #3256 (Resolved): path problems on Mac with CommandLine demo workflowshttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/32562008-04-30T17:52:49ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

On 1.0 release installer check, the CommandLine_1 and CommandLine_2 demo workflows (in demos/getting-started dir) fail with a path problem on the Mac.

This is apparently due to moving the demos directory.
Bug #3167 (Resolved): Customize documentation fails when ports addedhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/31672008-02-29T18:40:03ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

New customized documentation dialog has a 'null' error when ports have been added.

To see the error, customize an RExpression actor by adding 2 new input ports. Then right click to Documentation/Customize and add some text describing the new ports. When the dialog is closed a null error occurs. If no new ports are added, customized documentation seems to work OK.

Dan Higgins - 29 Feb 2008
Bug #3154 (Resolved): Documentation missing for DarwinCoreDataSourcehttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/31542008-02-21T19:47:38ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

When a DarwinCoreDataSource is dragged to the work area from the actor list, there is no documentation available. The same problem occurs when the actor is the result of a search.
Bug #3150 (Resolved): Need to add PTII Python actors back into Keplerhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/31502008-02-14T19:39:17ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

Ptolemy has 2 different actors that allow one to use Python scripts. These were removed from Kepler when all the actors were instantiated at startup because they greatlyt slowed down startup (by scanning all the jar files).

Several Kepler users have asked about using Python scripts in Kepler. Now that all actors are not instantiated at startup, the Python actors can be put back into Kepler, giving an additional scripting capability.

Dan Higgins - Feb 2008
Bug #3115 (Resolved): Need to check Kepler for memory leakshttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/31152008-01-31T21:04:53ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

Need to do some testing to see if Kepler memory leaks occur (i.e. does memory use increase even when workflows closed).

This was investigated 6 months (or more) ago, but has not been checked recently.,
Bug #3101 (Resolved): Inclusion of R executable for Mac and Linux ?https://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/31012008-01-24T23:34:13ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

We included a set of R executables for Windows as of beta3 and plan on doing so also for RC1. However, we do not include R for the Mac or Linux.

We need to consider whether we want to include the binaries as part of the installer. Mac installer is about 58 MB so there is a size issue. (Also do we want to include even the Windows version in CVS for nightly build?)

Dan Higgins - Jan 2008
Bug #3074 (Resolved): Code library installation issueshttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/30742008-01-16T23:48:12ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

There are several issues with compiled code libraries (*.dll, *.so, *.dylib files) and where they must be located. This is particularly true with 'secondary' libraries i.e. compiled code called by other compiled code (e.g. the GARP and gdal code calls other C libraries). Such libraries need to be installed in specific locations or environment variables need to be set so that they can be located at run time. These locations are also platform specific.

Preferably, such code libraries should be included in kar files with the actors that use them and copied to a place where they are usable when the kar is installed at startup. Note that installation in some locations may require special access privileges that not all users may have. e.g. adding dlls to the windows32 directory is reportedly not allowed under Windows Vista
Bug #3036 (Resolved): Need to be able to delete actors from the libraryhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/30362007-12-18T22:48:29ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

We can now add a customized or new actor to the user library, but there is no way to remove actors without deleting the entire .kepler directory (or at lease the part with actor info).

Need a "Delete Selected Actor" menu, perhaps as a context menu (popup) menu item?
Bug #3027 (Resolved): jar handling issueshttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/30272007-12-13T21:24:04ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

We still need to treat all 'legacy' actor jars - i.e. figure out which jars go
with which actors and are any shared. And figure out how to handle jar version issues.

This bug is derived from #2316 - now closed
Bug #3026 (Resolved): Actor documentation does not appear in older workflowshttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/30262007-12-12T23:32:19ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

Attempting to get actor documentation does not work in several of the older workflows, especially some in the demos directory. This is apparently due the fact that documentation is now saved inside kar files. This was changed after some existing workflows were created. They need to be rebuilt so that documentation will be added to the moml file for the workflow. (The documetation does show up when a new version of the actor is dragged to the workflow.)
Bug #2569 (Resolved): Popup (context) menu do not appear for relations and connectionshttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/25692006-10-23T17:30:39ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

A right click on relations (vertexes) and connections does not bring up a popup menu. This is probably just a configuration issue since these do appear OK in Ptolemy.
Bug #2493 (Resolved): actor repository tracking bughttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/24932006-07-18T21:42:18ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

The Kepler repository at http://library.kepler-project.org/ currently has 52 components in it, but (nearly?) all are just copies of actors already built into Kepler. If downloaded and imported (using the menu item 'File/Import Archive (KAR)', one gets an error because the LSID is already in use (because the actor is already in Kepler). We need to remove any actors that are just duplicates.

Also, all files (KARs) downloaded from the repository seemed to be named just 'data' on download (at least on a Windows box). Download name should be more meaningful and should end with '.kar' since that is the file extention that Kepler is looking for to import the file.
Bug #2448 (Resolved): Splash screen sometimes appears as simple white boxhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/24482006-05-26T23:25:24ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

Sometimes (at unpredictable times) the spash screen will not appear. Instead a simple, empty white box appears. This has been seen on both the Mac anc Windows.
Bug #2319 (Resolved): Ptolemy build problemshttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/23192005-12-15T23:18:02ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

Currently kepler uses 'ant ptolemy' to compile PtolemyII source code. Some
source code is just ignored (skipped) if it doesn't compile and isn't directly
used by Kepler. Often this problem is handled in PT by config/make dynamic
configuration of files.
We should make the ant ptolemy build 'smarter' to handle some of the dynamic
build problems (e.g Java 3D samples).
Bug #2315 (Resolved): Unable to run multiple Kepler instances simultaneouslyhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/23152005-12-09T23:14:30ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

On a Windows machine, I have been unable to launch a second instance of Kepler
(using a batch file which should run completely separate task) while first
instance is still running. Error message is:

Caused by: java.lang.NullPointerException
at org.kepler.objectmanager.cache.CacheUtil.executeSQLCommand(CacheUtil.java:78)
