Redmine Bug #3169 (Resolved): Cannot add documentation to a new actor from within Keplerhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/31692008-02-29T19:40:04ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

If one instantiates a new actor, it can be added to the library or saved as a KAR, but there is no way to add documentation from within Kepler!

If there is no current documentation, the Documentation/Customize menu item does nothing. So there is no way to add documentation other than adding it directly to the actor moml.

Dan HIggins - 29 Feb 2008
Bug #3026 (Resolved): Actor documentation does not appear in older workflowshttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/30262007-12-12T23:32:19ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

Attempting to get actor documentation does not work in several of the older workflows, especially some in the demos directory. This is apparently due the fact that documentation is now saved inside kar files. This was changed after some existing workflows were created. They need to be rebuilt so that documentation will be added to the moml file for the workflow. (The documetation does show up when a new version of the actor is dragged to the workflow.)
Bug #2850 (Resolved): Better Error message for missing 'R'https://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/28502007-05-22T21:02:22ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

If a workflow containing an RExpression actor is executed and R cannot be started from the command line (missing or not in PATH), a cryptic error message like 'The pipe has been ended appears'. Need to catch this error and provide a more meaningful error message (or check for R installation in some other way).
Bug #2809 (Resolved): Browser Display actor fails for Mac/Linuxhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/28092007-04-03T17:40:07ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

Browser Display actor does not detect MacOSX and always uses Netscape for Linux systems. Need to detect the default browser and use that.

see http://www.centerkey.com/java/browser/
for java code that detects default browser and works across multiple OSs
Bug #2779 (Resolved): ASC_To_Raw actor has bug in setting output directoryhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/27792007-02-21T22:17:18ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

Actor works OK if the outputRawFileName parameter is left blank (raw files are created in the same directory as the asc files). However, if set to a directory, all but first of the *.raw files are still added to the dir *.asc files are in!
Bug #2558 (Resolved): Cannot create a new 'kar' file for modified actorhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/25582006-10-03T18:02:22ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

We have a 'Save in Library...' menu for adding a modified actor to the actor/ontology list(tree) but this menu no longer creates a 'kar' file. We need to add a menu item for creating a kar file so that the new actor description can be saved and added to source code.
Bug #2493 (Resolved): actor repository tracking bughttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/24932006-07-18T21:42:18ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

The Kepler repository at http://library.kepler-project.org/ currently has 52 components in it, but (nearly?) all are just copies of actors already built into Kepler. If downloaded and imported (using the menu item 'File/Import Archive (KAR)', one gets an error because the LSID is already in use (because the actor is already in Kepler). We need to remove any actors that are just duplicates.

Also, all files (KARs) downloaded from the repository seemed to be named just 'data' on download (at least on a Windows box). Download name should be more meaningful and should end with '.kar' since that is the file extention that Kepler is looking for to import the file.
Bug #2461 (Resolved): Add MetadataSource actor to treehttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/24612006-06-15T21:49:54ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

The MetadataSource actor has been around since June 2005 but apparently was never added to the actor tree when kar system was created. It is used in the 'EcogridWriterTest.xml' workflow in $KEPLER/workflows/test/ to provide metadata to the EcogridWriter. It needs to be added to the actor tree and perhaps extended to allow metadata input on ports (in additon to the parameter input) for use in saving GARP best rulesets.
Bug #2398 (Resolved): change R home directory that is default of RExpression actorhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/23982006-04-06T03:38:57ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

The default working dir for R in the RExpession actor is set to the users $HOME directory. This causes a buildup of many temp files. Move the default to some subdirectory of .kepler so that it is removed when .kepler is deleted.

Also consider removal of contents when Kepler is shut-down(?)

Dan Higgins (April 5, 2006)
Bug #2389 (Resolved): Actor seach problemhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/23892006-03-23T15:06:53ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

Try seaching actor tree for 'Doc' or 'DocViewer'. Tree just 'flashes' and
returns to a single top level node. Seache for 'Docu' works!
(Observed on a Windows machine be Dan Higgins)
Bug #2340 (Resolved): Adding new actor to actor tree does not workhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/23402006-01-19T20:10:47ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

Right clicking on a directory in the actor tree brings up a menu to add an actor
to the folder. Selecting the add actor menu brings up a dialog which used to
work for atomic actors. Now (1/19/2006) trying to add an actor just brings up a
dialog that says 'Something bad happened'
Dan Higgins 1/19/2006
Bug #2256 (Resolved): Actor selection problem inside some Compositeshttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/22562005-11-08T17:49:38ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

This is a strange one!
How to observe the problem:
1) Open the GARP_Single_Species_BestRuleSet.xml workflow (#19 in ENM_Workflows
html page)
2) Look inside the 'Iterate ENM Calculation' composite
3) Look inside the 'V - Calculate Omission/Commission' composite in the screen
opened in 2)
4) Inside the 'Calculate Omission/Commission' window, find the Expression actor
which contains "DataDirectory+"/RuleSet"+cnt+".xml". Right clisk on the right
hand corner of this actor and a popup menu is displayed as expected.
However, if you right-click on the left corner, a NullPointerException occurs
in the AnnotatedPTree.notifyComponentDrop object!
It looks like none of the actors in the lower left of the screen are responding
properly to right click events. (In fact, the errors look like it thinks the
events are happening in the actor tree rather than the graph pane.)
Bug #2243 (Resolved): bug in inverse distance interpolation in Grid Rescaling actorhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/22432005-11-04T17:22:58ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

An attempt to smooth the IDW interpolation near NO_DATA edges of a grid has
resulted in errors in interpolation (that are clearly visible as a 'waffle' type
background in images).

Reason for this bug is currenly unclear. Needs to be fixed for use in ENM workflow.
Bug #2224 (Resolved): Annotation actor not working correctly from KAR filehttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/22242005-10-10T22:03:18ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

With the new .kar files for building the actor tree, the Annotation actor gives
a simple rectangle with dragged to the graph area rather than an editable text
box. Apparently, something is wrong with the configuration.
Bug #2013 (Resolved): Allow case insensitive user inputhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/20132005-03-11T18:52:36ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu
