Redmine Bug #3256 (Resolved): path problems on Mac with CommandLine demo workflowshttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/32562008-04-30T17:52:49ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

On 1.0 release installer check, the CommandLine_1 and CommandLine_2 demo workflows (in demos/getting-started dir) fail with a path problem on the Mac.

This is apparently due to moving the demos directory.
Bug #3169 (Resolved): Cannot add documentation to a new actor from within Keplerhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/31692008-02-29T19:40:04ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

If one instantiates a new actor, it can be added to the library or saved as a KAR, but there is no way to add documentation from within Kepler!

If there is no current documentation, the Documentation/Customize menu item does nothing. So there is no way to add documentation other than adding it directly to the actor moml.

Dan HIggins - 29 Feb 2008
Bug #3167 (Resolved): Customize documentation fails when ports addedhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/31672008-02-29T18:40:03ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

New customized documentation dialog has a 'null' error when ports have been added.

To see the error, customize an RExpression actor by adding 2 new input ports. Then right click to Documentation/Customize and add some text describing the new ports. When the dialog is closed a null error occurs. If no new ports are added, customized documentation seems to work OK.

Dan Higgins - 29 Feb 2008
Bug #3154 (Resolved): Documentation missing for DarwinCoreDataSourcehttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/31542008-02-21T19:47:38ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

When a DarwinCoreDataSource is dragged to the work area from the actor list, there is no documentation available. The same problem occurs when the actor is the result of a search.
Bug #3153 (Resolved): Preview problems with EML DataSource (for IPCC data)https://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/31532008-02-19T19:44:00ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

As of RC1, there is a 'Preview' menu item on the popup menu for EML DataSource actors. If one tries to preview the data for results of an 'IPCC' search, several problem appear.

For small data sets (like predictions for future climate variables where data may have 96 columns and 48 rows), initial header lines are apparently truncated in the preview display. Since a primary reason for the preview is to help understand the data, the header lines should not be removed in the display

With larger IPCC datasets (e.g. historical data with 720 x 360 data arrays), clicking on the preview menu seems to hang Kepler (at least for several minutes) I had to kill Kepler to continue.

Dan Higgins - Feb 19, 2008
Bug #3150 (Resolved): Need to add PTII Python actors back into Keplerhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/31502008-02-14T19:39:17ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

Ptolemy has 2 different actors that allow one to use Python scripts. These were removed from Kepler when all the actors were instantiated at startup because they greatlyt slowed down startup (by scanning all the jar files).

Several Kepler users have asked about using Python scripts in Kepler. Now that all actors are not instantiated at startup, the Python actors can be put back into Kepler, giving an additional scripting capability.

Dan Higgins - Feb 2008
Bug #3149 (New): cannot add arbitrary jars when exporting archivehttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/31492008-02-14T19:31:46ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

The "Export Archive (kar)" popup menu asks if the class file of an actor should be included in the kar, but there is no way to add other classes/jars. ie jar libraries that may be needed by the actor. (One specific example - python actor needs the jython.jar to execute)

Need to add a dialog to let the user add arbitrary number of additional jars to a kar file.
Bug #3119 (Resolved): Need Installer shortcuts for Windowshttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/31192008-02-01T18:58:42ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

Shortcuts for the IzPack installer system have not yet been implemented, although it is possible to create such shortcuts for Windows (and Linux).

Such shortcuts need to be implemented.
Bug #3115 (Resolved): Need to check Kepler for memory leakshttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/31152008-01-31T21:04:53ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

Need to do some testing to see if Kepler memory leaks occur (i.e. does memory use increase even when workflows closed).

This was investigated 6 months (or more) ago, but has not been checked recently.,
Bug #3102 (Resolved): Inclusion of R executable for Mac and Linux ?https://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/31022008-01-24T23:38:15ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

We included a set of R executables for Windows as of beta3 and plan on doing so also for RC1. However, we do not include R for the Mac or Linux.

We need to consider whether we want to include the binaries as part of the installer. Mac installer is about 58 MB so there is a size issue. (Also do we want to include even the Windows version in CVS for nightly build?)

Dan Higgins - Jan 2008
Bug #3086 (Resolved): Error with kepler20080122.zip version (PTII?)https://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/30862008-01-22T21:43:22ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

The nightly zipped version (kepler20080122) ends up having a recurring error shown in the terminal when the cursor is moved over the workflow display area.
The error appears in diva.canvas.BasicZList (see below) when executed using kepler.bat (Windows) or kepler.sh (Mac). Kepler seems to work OK, but error keeps appearing. Does not occur in keplwe20080118 so maybe a recent change in Ptolemy code?

We need some simple examples of how to use the CommandLine actors especially for Windows systems. These should be in the Demos directory. They should be annotated so that typical non-programmer can understand how to use commandline applications to launch external applications within Kepler.

Dan Higgins - Jan 2008
Bug #3078 (Resolved): No documentation for the 'SSH to Execute' actorhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/30782008-01-19T00:08:30ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

No documentation appear for the 'SSH to Execute' actor (org.sdm.spa.Ssh2Exec)
Bug #3076 (Resolved): Need to hit 'Return" key to enter a Criteria in QueryBuilderhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/30762008-01-18T19:07:37ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

You must hit the return key to force an entry in the Criteria column of the QueryBuilder. If you just enter the criteria value and click 'OK' the QueryBuilder ignores the text in the Criteria column. Ideally, if there is data in the column, losing focus should have the same effect as hitting the return key (i.e. the OK button action should capture any data in the table.)
