Redmine Bug #2509 (In Progress): FSM & Modal Model Menu selections do not workhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/25092006-08-08T18:56:16ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

Under File/New/ the FSM and Modal Modal options do not work. Capability of creating Finite State Models and Modal models is not there! Need to create some examples of state machines for ecological analysis and add appropriate actors when these menu selections are made.
Bug #2494 (In Progress): Problem with Microsoft zip extractor and Kepler ziphttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/24942006-07-19T21:30:16ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

The nightly build of Kepler creates a nightly zip file that contains all the code needed to run kepler from a shell/batch file. The zip file is quite large (~100MB). WinZip handles extraction of the zipped files nicely, but if one uses Microsoft's built in zip extractor, IT TAKES FOREVER (if it works at all!). The Microsoft zip extractor does seem to work OK for smaller zip files.

Note: This is not a bug in Kepler, but in MS unzip. Mentioned here primarily as a recond of this known problem.
Bug #2459 (In Progress): Need for actor/attribute that detects OS/executableshttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/24592006-06-15T18:24:03ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

Some workflows will only work on certain operating systems or require certain executables outside of Kepler (e.g. JNI based actors; R system, etc). It would be useful to have an actor/parameters/attribute that could be configured by the workflow author to check the OS and/or the existence of certain files (executables?) that are needed by the workflow and then inform the user if workflow will not run (i.e message like "This workflow will NOT run of the current OS (Mac OS X)".
Bug #2382 (In Progress): Documentation kar does not appear in actor treehttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/23822006-03-10T21:48:32ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

We have a 'Documentation' kar defined, but the actor does not appear in the
actor tree.
(We probably also need to add the DocViewerAttribute (see latest PT) to our kar
list.)
Bug #2348 (In Progress): Rewrite disk based GIS code for speed increasehttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/23482006-01-31T19:19:20ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

Currently, the java GIS routines for handling ascii grid files uses a
PersistentVector class that was originally created for Morpho when raster are
too large for RAM. This method works but is really quite slow.
A good part of this slowness is probably due to the treatment of the raster data
as Java objects (actually as string arrays).
It is likely that a new approach using Java NIO buffers could greatly speed up
these virtual memory routines. This should be investigated at some point in the
future.
Dan Higgins - Jan 31, 2006
Bug #2307 (In Progress): Mac OSX code missing for several JNI actorshttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/23072005-12-02T16:59:35ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

We have compiled libraries (in CVS) for GARP and some GIS tools (e.g. GDAL) for
Windows and Linux OSs, but we do not have Mac libraries for the associated actors.
Bug #2302 (In Progress): Problem unzipping hierarchical datahttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/23022005-11-29T21:58:54ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

When EML Datasources point to zipped data files, the data is supposed to be
automatically unzipped when downloaded. This works OK when the zipped file
directory is 'flat'; but when the zip file contains a hierarchy (e.g. has a top
level dir 'topdir' which contains one or more other files), the automatic
unzipping fails!
Bug #2056 (In Progress): Port labels appear 'twice' when DataSource actor addedhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/20562005-04-04T20:47:03ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

Put any actor on a blank graph page (say, the SequenceToArray actor) Configure
the ports to show port names(e.g. 'input' and 'output'). The display of the port
names is OK. Now search for some EMLDataSource (say 'Datos') and drag a result
to the graph display. When the DataSouce output ports appear, the name labels
then appear twice on the inital icon! This 'double label effect remains even
when the DataSourec actor is removed!
Bug #2012 (In Progress): Incorporate combo boxes with pick lists in as many places as possible to...https://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/20122005-03-11T18:49:58ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

(Suggested by Laura Downey)
Setting ports and actor parameters requires user typing in a number of places
where pick lists would avoid user errors. Setting all actor parameters (e.g.
name, ports info, etc. would be easier is a single dialog were used)
Bug #2011 (In Progress): MENUS: Context Menus - Add Cut/Copy/Paste to all right click popup menushttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/20112005-03-11T18:46:48ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

suggested by Laura Downey (standard practice)
Bug #2005 (In Progress): associate an visual text annotation with a specific actorhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/20052005-03-09T01:09:37ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

Annotation actors can be added to an overall workflow but cannot be associated
with specific actors. Only the actor 'name' moves with the actor; we need
annotations that can be tied to specific actors which move with the actor when
the actor is dragged across the screen.
Bug #1914 (In Progress): Implement the 'most recently used' concept for workflows and actorshttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/19142005-01-24T18:45:25ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.eduBug #1911 (In Progress): Provide real-time feedback/animation for workflow progress as a defaulthttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/19112005-01-24T18:05:57ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

Currently, one can set the workflow to show progress for SDF and some other
types of directors. Request is to make this the default (i.e. always show
progress). This may be difficult for PN networks.
