Redmine Bug #3270 (Resolved): disable DIGIR Data Source by defaulthttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/32702008-05-02T21:21:33ZDerik Barseghianbarseghian@nceas.ucsb.edu

chatting on irc, chad jing and i think we should disable DIGIR in the Services List panel by default, since it's still severely slowing down search.
Bug #3257 (Resolved): Typos in html docs and demos.https://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/32572008-04-30T21:07:35ZAaron Aaronaschultz@nceas.ucsb.edu

A couple of typos in the documentation and demos.
Bug #3245 (Resolved): Release 1.0 installer tracking bughttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/32452008-04-29T19:30:27ZChad Berkleyberkley@nceas.ucsb.edu

Current issues:

1) IzPack is extremely slow when an installer is built for multiple OSs. I've alerted the IzPack team to the problem.
2) IzPack will not recognize the difference between mac and linux. I've also alerted the IzPack team to this problem.

Currently, there are 4 different packs for the base files. There is one pack called "Base" that builds an installer that will run on win, mac or linux. The installer is large, but can be used with a nightly build system.

The os dependent packs are currently commented out and will be used to target installers for a specific OS. This has the advantage of letting us have a smaller installer for each OS and we can bypass the slowness bug that seems to happen when you define packs for different OSs.

There is a note before the first pack in the install.xml file that details how this should work.

TODO:
1) build the installers and get people to test them.
2) work with IzPack to get the bugs fixed.
Bug #3219 (Resolved): White space in installation path fails on config file readhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/32192008-04-11T18:06:27ZAaron Aaronaschultz@nceas.ucsb.edu

When Kepler is installed on windows with white spaces in the installation path an exception is thrown from ConfigXML.saveDOM method.
Bug #3212 (Resolved): EML2 Actor does not reconfigure available columns after initial downloadhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/32122008-04-08T17:24:47Zben leinfelderleinfelder@nceas.ucsb.edu

After the selected entity has been changed for the EML actor, the ports are reconfigured to show the available columns, and other internal variables are set accordingly to support the new data table. There seemed to be an omission, however, in that the method generteLabelListAndTypteListFromColumns() [sic] was only being called after the initial download of the EML data was complete. The member variable values set in this method are used by supporting EML output formats and need to be set in order to function correctly.
Bug #3154 (Resolved): Documentation missing for DarwinCoreDataSourcehttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/31542008-02-21T19:47:38ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

When a DarwinCoreDataSource is dragged to the work area from the actor list, there is no documentation available. The same problem occurs when the actor is the result of a search.
Bug #3153 (Resolved): Preview problems with EML DataSource (for IPCC data)https://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/31532008-02-19T19:44:00ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

As of RC1, there is a 'Preview' menu item on the popup menu for EML DataSource actors. If one tries to preview the data for results of an 'IPCC' search, several problem appear.

For small data sets (like predictions for future climate variables where data may have 96 columns and 48 rows), initial header lines are apparently truncated in the preview display. Since a primary reason for the preview is to help understand the data, the header lines should not be removed in the display

With larger IPCC datasets (e.g. historical data with 720 x 360 data arrays), clicking on the preview menu seems to hang Kepler (at least for several minutes) I had to kill Kepler to continue.

Dan Higgins - Feb 19, 2008
Bug #3125 (Resolved): Preview actor issues with EMLDatasourcehttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/31252008-02-02T02:13:31Zben leinfelderleinfelder@nceas.ucsb.edu

Behavior for this action is inconsistent.
1. Previewing when the output format is set to "As Column Vector" shows no data (blank table)
2. Sometimes data will be shown as just text (not in table)
3. Sometimes going back to a selected entity will show "Preview not available" message, when other times the preview is successful (but as plain text).
4. When resizing the window the table does not expand with the window.
Bug #3124 (Resolved): Automatically refresh ecogrid sources (endpoints) once per Keplerhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/31242008-02-02T01:27:39Zben leinfelderleinfelder@nceas.ucsb.edu

Now that there are two ways in which to refresh the available Ecogrid services (as registered in the registry), the refresh should only happen once per Kepler window.
Currently the autorefresh will happen once for each Kepler window when the user selects the Data tab.
Since there has been a lot of time devoted to making startup quick, the refresh should not slow down the start up of Kepler.
And, of course, the user can always manually refresh the sources with the "Refresh" button that is found on the sources tab.
Bug #3122 (Resolved): Get installer size downhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/31222008-02-01T23:34:13ZChad Berkleyberkley@nceas.ucsb.edu

Currently with documentation, the installer jar file is 174MB. We need to go through and make sure everything in there is actually needed and see if we can get that size down a bit.
Bug #3118 (Resolved): remove "Add" button from data Sources dialoghttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/31182008-02-01T10:20:37ZMatt Jonesjones@nceas.ucsb.edu

The data Sources dialog (accessible from the Search pane) has been updated to include a 'Refresh' function that obsoletes the need for the previous 'Add' function. The corresponding 'Add' button should be removed from the dialog box, and the search dialog that is brought up when clicking the Add button should be removed from the source tree as it is nw obsolete.
Bug #3039 (Resolved): EML2 Datasource (from search) does not include Documentationhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/30392007-12-20T23:29:51ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

If you search Earthgrid (e.g. for 'Datos') and drag result to work area, the Documentation context menu will not show any information.
If you just drag a EML2 Datasource actor to the workarea, Documentation will show up OK!
Bug #2959 (Resolved): Need for Multiport input for RExpression actorhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/29592007-09-10T21:32:31ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

Kevin Drury added a multiport input to an RExpression actor and noted that only the 1st channel was input. Currently, one can add a multiport input but it is not recognized as a multiport by the actor (NOTE: The Expression actor also allows one to add a multiport but does not recognize it or do anything with the multiple channels.)

Ideally, a multiport should probably just concatenate data from multiple attached channels.
Bug #2872 (Resolved): md5 checksumshttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/28722007-06-11T23:16:45ZDerik Barseghianbarseghian@nceas.ucsb.edu

We should add md5 checksums to our releases.
Bug #2712 (Resolved): Problem with EML2DataSource with extra cols in csv filehttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/27122006-12-31T21:27:11ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

This problem can be seen by seaching for 'biomass'. First result is "1999 Sevilleta NPP Quadrat Sampling Data". Drag onto canvas and configure Data Output Format to return 'As Column Vector'. If you make a SDF workflow and try to display any of the columns to a Display actor the message

"Metadata sees data has 12columns but actually data has 13columns. Please make sure metadata is correct!"

Most of the rows in the table do have only 12 comma-separated columns. However, there are a few rows that have some additional comma-separated comments AFTER the 12th column value! This apparently causes a parsing failure.

I suggest that the parser should be modified to ignore any addition data beyond the last column. This would allow additional comments to the right of actual data columns. Note that R does this when it parses dataframes. Morpho also will display the data in this dataset without 'choking' on additional data off the right in some rows. (Dan Higgins)
