There are many random errors occurring with the data search/authentication system. This is a tracking bug for these issues. Please set this bug as a blocker to any bug associated with these problems.
Bug #3269 (Resolved): authentication system throws NPEhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/32692008-05-02T21:05:59ZChad Berkleyberkley@nceas.ucsb.edu

after a fresh install, go to the data tab. remove the digir selection, search for 'datos'. click the 'login anonymously' button when prompted. you'll get a search result.

Current issues:

1) IzPack is extremely slow when an installer is built for multiple OSs. I've alerted the IzPack team to the problem.
2) IzPack will not recognize the difference between mac and linux. I've also alerted the IzPack team to this problem.

Currently, there are 4 different packs for the base files. There is one pack called "Base" that builds an installer that will run on win, mac or linux. The installer is large, but can be used with a nightly build system.

The os dependent packs are currently commented out and will be used to target installers for a specific OS. This has the advantage of letting us have a smaller installer for each OS and we can bypass the slowness bug that seems to happen when you define packs for different OSs.

There is a note before the first pack in the install.xml file that details how this should work.

TODO:
1) build the installers and get people to test them.
2) work with IzPack to get the bugs fixed.
Bug #3211 (Resolved): Need XSLT stylesheet to build actor docshttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/32112008-04-07T22:25:46ZChad Berkleyberkley@nceas.ucsb.edu

Kirsten wants to include the actor documentation in an indexed PDF along with the release. We need to write an XSLT stylesheet to transform all of the actor documentation into html so that it can be crawled by a pdf maker. We also need to have the XSLT create a table of contents. We've done something similar with EML.
Bug #3200 (Resolved): create a 1.0.0 branch in cvshttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/32002008-04-02T15:54:37ZChad Berkleyberkley@nceas.ucsb.edu

We need a branch for 1.0 targeted development so that normal dev can go on in the head. Any items that need to be in 1.0 must be checked into the branch. Anything that should not be in 1.0 (i.e. anything that is not a bug targeted to 1.0) must be checked into the head.
Bug #3199 (Resolved): include R 2.6 in the installerhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/31992008-04-02T15:50:41ZChad Berkleyberkley@nceas.ucsb.edu

We are currently including 2.4 in the windows installer. we'd like to upgrade that to 2.6 and also see if we can get R in the installer for linux and osx.
Bug #3195 (Resolved): Check all documentation for 1.0 releasehttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/31952008-04-02T15:41:13ZChad Berkleyberkley@nceas.ucsb.edu

All of the documentation needs to be checked for accuracy and completeness before the 1.0 release, which is currently scheduled for April 25.
Bug #3167 (Resolved): Customize documentation fails when ports addedhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/31672008-02-29T18:40:03ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

New customized documentation dialog has a 'null' error when ports have been added.

To see the error, customize an RExpression actor by adding 2 new input ports. Then right click to Documentation/Customize and add some text describing the new ports. When the dialog is closed a null error occurs. If no new ports are added, customized documentation seems to work OK.

Dan Higgins - 29 Feb 2008
Bug #3144 (Resolved): add link in OSX Applications folderhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/31442008-02-11T21:51:22ZChad Berkleyberkley@nceas.ucsb.edu

This bug is spawned from bug 3119. We need to figure out how to put a shortcut into the Applications folder on osx.
Bug #3138 (Resolved): remove the distributed options menu item for 1.0 releasehttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/31382008-02-07T18:14:52ZChad Berkleyberkley@nceas.ucsb.edu

We are not going to support distributed computing in 1.0 so the menu option should be removed for the release.
Bug #3126 (Resolved): add R system installation to the Mac installerhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/31262008-02-04T17:52:47ZMatt Jonesjones@nceas.ucsb.edu

The R system is installed under windows as an option, but not under MacOS X. We need to add this so that Mac users can benefit from the R actors out-of-the-box. Need to see whether IzPack can handle this directly as it can for the Windows R installer or not.
Bug #3122 (Resolved): Get installer size downhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/31222008-02-01T23:34:13ZChad Berkleyberkley@nceas.ucsb.edu

Currently with documentation, the installer jar file is 174MB. We need to go through and make sure everything in there is actually needed and see if we can get that size down a bit.
Bug #3109 (Resolved): Many demos linked to getting started don't workhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/31092008-01-29T18:56:03ZChad Berkleyberkley@nceas.ucsb.edu

We need to either fix or remove the links from introScientist.htm that won't load. many are the web service ones that no longer work.
