If you see this page, you most likely succeeded in installing mapbuilder. Mapbuilder will run from anything
that serves files, even the local file system. There are however a few situations where you need to
either have a PHP or JSP enabled webserver. See the
tutorial for more information.
OpenLayers provides a common interface to a number of different map
layers (like Google, Yahoo, MSN, WMS, etc). It is used by all of the Map
rendering widgets, and some of the other widgets as well.

Sarissa is an ECMAScript library acting as a cross-browser wrapper for native XML APIs. It offers various XML related goodies like Document instantiation, XML loading from URLs or strings, XSLT transformations, XPath queries etc and comes especially handy for people doing what is lately known as "AJAX" development.
