Redmine Feature #7071 (New): Add a table of contents to the Metadata View for easier navigationhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/70712016-07-27T19:33:21ZLauren Walkerwalker@nceas.ucsb.eduFeature #6950 (Rejected): Add "show available services" search to DataCatalog Viewhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/69502016-01-20T22:34:26ZLauren Walkerwalker@nceas.ucsb.edu

As described in the "Discover Relevant Services" scenario in the DataONE docs:

https://repository.dataone.org/documents/Projects/cicore/architecture/MemberNodeServices/build/html/MNServices.html#id9

After a user searches for data, they could click a "show available services" element that would display the services available for those particular search results.
Feature #6810 (New): Create detailed user documentation for MetacatUIhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/68102015-07-28T18:53:07ZLauren Walkerwalker@nceas.ucsb.edu

We already have in the works:
- Help page for MetacatUI (User oriented)
- API documentation for DataONE API (user and developer oriented)

And now I think we should add more detailed documentation for MetacatUI (developer oriented) so that users of this free, open-source software can find instructions on how to create and configure a new theme for either their own installation of Metacat or as a search tool for their DataONE member node. The Metacat docs currently have some basic documentation on theming, but I think having some stand-alone docs will be helpful since MetacatUI may be accessed individually, such as from its GitHub repo.

The Metacat docs should also be updated to put the skins instructions in a deprecated appendix section and add a link to these new UI docs in the theming section.
