Redmine Bug #7104 (New): Navigating directly to a dataset #view page using a data pid sometimes goes to a...https://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/71042016-09-28T19:55:52ZLauren Walkerwalker@nceas.ucsb.edu

Example: df35d.94.5 in GOA

The message that a newer versions appears so it is not completely broken, but a user would reasonably expect to be taken to the most recent version right away.
Bug #7053 (New): Parent dataset link in package view shows obsolete parent packageshttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/70532016-07-09T00:12:19ZBryce Mecummecum@nceas.ucsb.edu

I updated a parent package, https://arcticdata.io/catalog/#view/urn:uuid:25a6bbf5-e24a-4ec1-8da3-54a181ec4ac2, to include a new child. Somewhere down the rabbit hole I managed to incorrectly reference a child package, resulting in a few child packages appearing to be children of a package I didn't intend. I rectified this by updating the parent.

If you look at one of the children, like https://arcticdata.io/catalog/#view/resource_map_doi:10.18739/A28S8M, you see that MetacatUI is showing two parent packages. If you look at those two parent packages, doi:10.18739/A28S8M is only included as a child of one of them. So the parent looks correct while a few children look incorrect. I did not expect this.

I'm not sure what's going on but maybe the code that fills in the Parent dataset links doesn't respect obsoletion? If this is the case, could/should this behavior be changed?
Bug #7035 (New): View service not rendering entity sectionhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/70352016-05-27T00:48:13ZBryce Mecummecum@nceas.ucsb.edu

Intermittently, we're seeing the 'Data Table, Image, and Other Data Details' section of an EML doc end up empty of content in that section. The EML is fine (it contains an otherEntity sub-tree) and Ben says 'the xslt even included the otherEntity in the html it produced' via 'curl .... /d1/views/..../blah'.

Examples:
- https://arcticdata.io/catalog/#view/arctic-data.6238.1
Bug #7011 (New): Bar labels "Time period of data" graph on #profile is cut offhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/70112016-04-12T23:35:17ZBryce Mecummecum@nceas.ucsb.edu

If I visit the arctic-data-admins profile on arcticdata.io, https://arcticdata.io/catalog/#profile/CN=arctic-data-admins,DC=dataone,DC=org, the number (currently 3000) above the far-right bar is cut off. See attachment. I expected the number to not be cut off.

I have reproduced this on Chrome and Safari on Mac OS 10.11.4
Bug #7001 (New): Odd sidebar rendering when switching resolutionshttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/70012016-03-27T21:19:59ZBryce Mecummecum@nceas.ucsb.edu

I just noticed two strange things with the rendering of the sidebar when I was switching between viewport sizes. Notably:

- The text 'Data files' appearing smaller than the rest of the items
- Small marks between Year and Identifier

GIF goodness attached.
Bug #6967 (New): If the most recent version of a metadata record is archived, the "there is a new...https://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/69672016-02-26T22:45:32ZLauren Walkerwalker@nceas.ucsb.edu

Example: https://knb.ecoinformatics.org/#view/doi:10.5063/AA/knb.253.1
Bug #6907 (New): Seach for object ID irregularly successfulhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/69072015-12-14T22:03:56ZJessica Couturecouture@nceas.ucsb.edu

Trying to find a data object using the search window on the GoA MN somtimes returns the correct package and sometimes returns no results, even though all items searched are real objects. I have tried using firefox and chrome on a mac and Rachael had similar success/failure on a PC (not sure what browser). For example: searching for the data table csv file: df35b.249.2, does not return any results but searching for an R script in the package (df35b.250.3) returns the correct package (df35b.273.6). Also, searching by the metadata id (df35b.273.6) works as it should also.
Bug #6879 (New): Popover box in Google Maps does not always displayhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/68792015-11-04T21:10:20ZLauren Walkerwalker@nceas.ucsb.edu

This bug was shown to me by followng these steps:
- Click on tile to zoom in multiple times, so that there is one tile with a count of "1"
- Click on the tile and the popover box displays correctly (with 'Datasets located here...')
- Uncheck the map filter (the checkbox for 'limit my search to the map')
- The map is refreshed and the popover box does not display after clicking
Bug #6858 (New): Allow users to save their search via a bookmarkable/sharable linkhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/68582015-10-19T17:56:48ZLauren Walkerwalker@nceas.ucsb.edu

The DataCatalogView already supports using a custom query in the URL - we need to expose this to the user so they can save or share their search
Bug #6857 (New): Make COINS work with Chrome (and other browser) extensionshttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/68572015-10-19T17:54:45ZLauren Walkerwalker@nceas.ucsb.edu

browser plug-ins that check for COINS will check upon initial page load only. This causes a problem with MetacatUI which adds the COINS after the initial page load via Javascript. We should create a mechanism for users to get their citation info from the search page using their browser plug-in -- possibly adding a button that will open a new tab/window with the COINS already loaded?
Bug #6718 (New): Consider not mapping search reuslts with a 0,0,0,0 bounding boxhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/67182015-04-09T16:12:22ZLauren Walkerwalker@nceas.ucsb.edu

It is unlikely that these metadata docs are legitimately documenting data about that geolocation. It is usually the case that these datasets are global or the metadata creator was using it as an "N/A" entry.

Global datasets will need to be represented on the map or in the search results in a different way.
Bug #6699 (New): Prompt asks for credentials in Chrome on Android 4.4.2https://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/66992015-03-24T17:17:19ZLauren Walkerwalker@nceas.ucsb.edu

When I navigate to search.test.dataone.org and KNB in Chrome 41.0.2272.94 on my phone (Android 4.4.2), I get a prompt that asks for credentials. If I click Cancel, another prompt pops up. After I click Cancel and rotate through new prompts about 6 times, they stop popping up and I can navigate the site as usual. See attached screenshot.

This issue seems similar to what users were experiencing in Safari (#6457) except the site doesn't completely fail to load afterwards.
Bug #6457 (New): safari gives cert error and fails to load UIhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/64572014-03-13T01:14:45ZMatt Jonesjones@nceas.ucsb.edu

Bruce Kendall reported problems loading MetacatUI under Safari 7.0.2 under Mac OS X Mavericks. He writes:

"You might let the IT guys know that the knb website seems to be rejecting connections from Safari on a Mac (“The server did not accept the certificate”). I could connect fine with Chrome."

Upon inspection, we have the system functioning under Savari 6.1.1 (Matt) and 7 (Lauren), but not for everyone. We had suspected a relationship to the Safari SSL renegoiation issue that has been reported previously for DataONE and KNB (see https://redmine.dataone.org/issues/3255), but now this looks like it might be different than that.
Bug #6436 (New): + characters are not URL-encoded when part of a text search and are therefore be...https://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/64362014-02-28T23:12:48ZLauren Walkerwalker@nceas.ucsb.edu

I will want to replace +'s with %2B's on the front end before passing them to Metacat - but this will only be effective with a fix in Metacat to interpret %2B as +and not spaces (see bug 6435 in Metacat)
Bug #6103 (New): Sort by Identifier sorts capitalized letters separately from undercase lettershttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/61032013-09-26T23:02:54ZLauren Walkerwalker@nceas.ucsb.edu
