Redmine Bug #5741 (Resolved): Decide on login procedurehttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/57412012-11-20T20:16:23Zben leinfelderleinfelder@nceas.ucsb.edu

Out of band in browser?
Embedded browser?
ECP?
Bug #5740 (Resolved): Add MN selection to Morpho preferences screenhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/57402012-11-20T20:04:40Zben leinfelderleinfelder@nceas.ucsb.edu

For now we have a configured MN URL in the config.xml. This works, but does not tell use which environment the client or mN is part of.
We should also design the preferences to use:
-CN URL + MN reference (to determine the MN URL)
or
-MN URL alone
Bug #5739 (Resolved): Refactor login status to reflect client certificate statushttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/57392012-11-20T19:57:37Zben leinfelderleinfelder@nceas.ucsb.edu

Rather than checking session-based login status, Morpho should check for a) existence of client certificate, b) validity of certificate, including expiration and probably issuer.
We can display the subject for the currently-found client certificate.
Right now we will just assume the default CILogon location, but in the future each profile should have its own copy of a client certificate.
Bug #5738 (Resolved): Refactor ping/connection status to use DataONE apihttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/57382012-11-20T19:45:46Zben leinfelderleinfelder@nceas.ucsb.edu

Morpho checks if you have a connection to the network server and displays this in the UI (checking periodically). I think we can accomplish this with the MNCore.ping method.
Bug #5737 (Resolved): Refactor Access page to use SystemMetadata rather than EMLhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/57372012-11-19T23:37:01Zben leinfelderleinfelder@nceas.ucsb.edu

Or a combination of the two different ways of defining access control rules. Still TBD
Bug #5733 (Resolved): EML export places additionalMetadata section at top of pagehttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/57332012-11-09T20:15:05Zben leinfelderleinfelder@nceas.ucsb.edu

Due to some ill-placed HTML in the xslt, the additionalMetadata block is showing above the Citation section when it should be at the bottom of the page.
Bug #5622 (Resolved): Modify morpho package id management when we switch to dataonehttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/56222012-06-09T00:29:23ZJing Taotao@nceas.ucsb.edu

currently morpho package id consists of three parts:
site code + id+ revision.

To my understanding, dataone doesn't have the revision this concept at all.

If morpho locally has tao.23.1 and tao.23.2, the search result will only shows up tao.23.2 since tao.23.1 is considered as an older version of tao.23.2.

However, if we switch to dataone, the older mechanism for revisioning wouldn't work any more. For example, we create a new package and save it locally. From the dataone service, we get an id tao.25 for this package. Then we modify the document and save locally again. This time we get an id tao.30 for this package. So we need a new mechanism linking tao.25 to be an older version of tao.30.
Bug #5613 (Resolved): Consolidate the metacat code in morphohttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/56132012-06-01T23:25:56ZJing Taotao@nceas.ucsb.edu

Metacate code is scattered around the entire morpho source code. We should consolidate it.

If we decide to use the Remote Repository Plugin design, which is an abstraction connecting to the remote repository such as Metacat and dataone, we will encapsulate the metacat code in one class.
Bug #5141 (Resolved): offer a choice to "cancel" from any savehttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/51412010-08-11T21:20:24ZMargaret O'Brienmob@msi.ucsb.edu

when a user choose to save a data package, there is usually not an option to cancel out of the operation.
1. For example, when there is a docid collision in Metacat, the user has to choose to increment the revision or let morpho choose a new docid. The user should also be able to cancel out altogether if s/he does not know which to choose.
2. if the log-in fails, the local doc is still saved. this should be optional.
Bug #5128 (Resolved): access list does not show all dns in the LTER LDAP treehttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/51282010-08-04T20:32:06ZMargaret O'Brienmob@msi.ucsb.edu

When adding access rules for individuals, not all the people in the LTER tree are available. It appears that missing folks are the relatively recent additions, eg, since about 2008, but I cannot be sure of that.
this might be related to bug 3596.
Bug #4961 (Resolved): user guide error re: how to import taxonomic coverage from filehttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/49612010-04-29T18:20:05Zgastil gastilgastil@msi.ucsb.edu

Taxonomic Coverage page (step 12 of 15) for new package.

The context help says to look under Help->UsersGuide for a FAQ.

but the Help->UsersGuide
does not contain any FAQ

the info on importing taxa is on page 44-46 after figure 6.15 of the Users Guide.

Just change the text (label) on the gui.
Bug #4418 (Resolved): "about" box displays incorrect version numberhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/44182009-09-25T18:51:57ZWill Tyburczywilltyb@uchicago.edu

When you go to "morpho > About morpho" from the computer menu bar, the version displayed is 1.0
Bug #1848 (Resolved): Error message when exporting data package without saving ithttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/18482004-12-21T21:38:13ZVeronique Connollyconnolly@nceas.ucsb.edu

The following happened for data packages obfs.174.3, obfs.302.3, obfs.66.3,
obfs.346.2, obfs.138.4, and nrs.158.7:

If you open one of those dps from the network, select “Export…” on the File
menu, and click “Export”, you get a message (“Sorry, Package must be saved
before it can be exported!”) instead of the “Export Datapackage to Selected
Directory” window. If you single-click (to select) one of those dps from the
resultset, right-click, and select Export, you get the “Export Datapackage to
Selected Directory”, but when you click on Save you get a message saying
“Package has not been saved! Unable to export!”

I tried doing the same thing with the following dps and everything was normal:
knb.157.4, ces_dataset.116.1, nceas.142.4, obfs.418.1, nrs.211.1, obfs2.439.1.

It seems to be a rule that for obfs. and nrs. dps, the bug doesn’t happen for
dps whose docids end with “.1”.
Bug #1773 (Resolved): Importing code table results in display of ID numbers, not code valueshttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/17732004-11-19T00:37:02ZAndrea Andreachadden@nceas.ucsb.edu

When coded values are defined by importing a seperate table of code values and
definitions (in the DPW), the attribute info (next to "measurement domain")
displays ID numbers referencing the information in that table of codes, but
does not display the code definitions themselves. Therefore the person looking
at the attribute info for a column sees a long string of numbers (which have no
meaning to the user) instead of the information they need, namely, what do the
codes mean?

This bug was discovered by Veronique.
Bug #1514 (Resolved): Citation DPWhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/15142004-04-19T15:29:14ZEric Fegrausfegraus@nceas.ucsb.edu

Adding in citations during the taxonomic screen. The "Mo...." buttons are a
little confusing? Why are there two of them and what do they mean?

The "Party" colum label is confusing. This needs to be explained if it is in
Morpho. "Role" can you only add authors here? Is an editor an author? Looks
great though...eventually a citation import wizard would be the best.
