Redmine Bug #352 (Resolved): errors in XML editor with complex documentshttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/3522001-11-30T17:16:32ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

Several errors in the displayed XML document have been observed, especially with
complex documents with (CHOICE) nodes deep in hierarchy. In some cases, nodes
that are in document do not appear in the editor.
Bug #346 (Resolved): make sure morpho displays ALL eml field documentationhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/3462001-11-30T03:10:04ZMatt Jonesjones@nceas.ucsb.edu

Morpho now selectively displays eml documentation. Need to make sure that it
displays all of the EML documentation comprehensively. Probably best if it
would read the docs directly out of the XML Schema files.
Bug #333 (Resolved): add fields to package wizardhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/3332001-11-30T01:48:05ZMatt Jonesjones@nceas.ucsb.edu

Need to add the core fields to the package wizard to allow for a reasonably
complete metadata set using only the package wizard. For the first screen
(eml-dataset), this means adding a "rights" field and an "abstract" field at a
minimum. We shoudl also seriously consider coverages, including the FGDC
bounding box (spatial) and taxonomic and temporal coverage.

Need to systematically review the rest of the screens and make informed
decisions about which fields should be included.
Bug #318 (Resolved): identifier not passed to new metadatat objectshttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/3182001-11-06T01:40:05ZJames Bruntjbrunt@lternet.edu

When trying to create new metadata objects I noticed that the identifier was
not passed to the new objects - I don't know if this is a bug or a feature?

James
Bug #304 (Resolved): ampersand handling errorshttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/3042001-10-23T19:12:43ZMatt Jonesjones@nceas.ucsb.edu

Reported by Christy Bowles:
"Error in adding new packages (after complete package wizard and close package
editor):Org.xml.sax.SAXParseException. The entity name must immediately follow
the ?&? in the entity of reference."

"Can?t download files from Metacat (I could earlier today). I tried this several
times and nothing happened. Several later attempts generated the error
message:Org.xml.sax.SAXParseException. The entity name must immediately follow
the "&" in the entity of reference. Another attempt froze the program."
Bug #292 (Resolved): error about 'missing_value_code' elementhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/2922001-10-03T19:23:29ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

Attempt to insert a new datapackage gives an error about 'missing_value_code'
Bug #290 (Resolved): certain datasets are not displayed correctlyhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/2902001-10-03T16:30:48ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

Certain datasets (e.g. new nrs datasets) cause error when an attempt is made to
display the dataset in Morpho. Error has been traced to problem in
DataPackageGUI class. Error occurs when a text in certain elements is missing.
(null node is examined) Error checking for null nodes needed.
Bug #263 (Resolved): editor fails to create some CHOICE content modelshttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/2632001-07-31T00:49:10ZMatt Jonesjones@nceas.ucsb.edu

The Morpho editor has trouble representing some CHOICE content models for
editing properly, likely those that have multiple levels of nesting. For
example, in eml-physical.dtd, the following content model is not handled
properly in the editor:

(fieldStartColumn?, (fieldDelimiter | fieldWidth))*
Bug #262 (Resolved): make text fields editable in pop-up text editorhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/2622001-07-25T18:54:33ZJivka Bojilovabojilova@nceas.ucsb.edu

As an idea in Morpho make text fields that potentially will hold long text
editable in a pop-up text editor with OK and CANCEL buttons by double clicking
on them.
Bug #260 (Resolved): acl handling for packages needs to be updatedhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/2602001-07-24T22:05:24ZChad Berkleyberkley@nceas.ucsb.edu

the package editor components now need to update an acl file for public read
write access instead of setting the public boolean in the URL.
Bug #259 (Resolved): Change meaning of permissions to be inclusivehttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/2592001-07-23T17:56:34ZDan Higginshiggins@nceas.ucsb.edu

Current pemissions 'read, write, all' are not inclusive and 'all' does NOT
include read and write. Consider renaming 'all' and making permission inclusive.
Will require changes in both Morpho and Metacat
Bug #254 (Resolved): Look up id sequence on morpho startuphttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/2542001-07-12T16:54:16ZMatt Jonesjones@nceas.ucsb.edu
Allow users to move from one machine to another by looking up the max accession

from metacat and using it to set the "lastId" property in morpho.

Bug #236 (Resolved): improve handling of query optionshttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/2362001-06-13T08:56:43ZMatt Jonesjones@nceas.ucsb.edu

QueryDialog currently hard codes the "casesensitive" query option and does not
allow the user to set and control many important options. Possibly add a new
tab for these query options, which would read and write the results to the users
profile. This includes: casesensitivity, local search toggle, metacat search
toggle, and other relevant search options.
Bug #223 (Resolved): Build installers for Windows, Mac, Linuxhttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/2232001-04-10T00:44:13ZMatt Jonesjones@nceas.ucsb.edu

Need to build installers for Windows, Mac, and Linux. These should not require
Java (they should be able to install Java as part of the install process). And
they should not have a lot of difficult to meet dependencies (like
InstallAnywhere's use of an Applet). They should be simple executables for the
target platform that allows the user to 1) install Java if needed, and 2)
install the program (with any application configuration that is needed) without
the need for following instructions in a README file.
Bug #116 (Resolved): metadata extraction for text fileshttps://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/1162000-09-20T18:06:33ZMatt Jonesjones@nceas.ucsb.edu

Need data set parser module integrated as a new componenet of dmanclient. This
parser would take an ASCII data file as input and parse it to determine its
structure, and then output an XML document (initially compatible with eml-file
and eml-variable) that would be openened in the metadata editor for review and
revision by the scientist.
