Description

The spatial harvester is currently generic enough to handle any xml document with west, east, north and south xpaths. These are configured in metacat.properties.

However, they are single values and thus a metacat instance can only support spatial options for one schema at a time.

We need to make this generic enough so that multiple supported schemas can be in the same database, their geographic coverages all represented in the spatial cache.

Preliminary support for multiple spatial schemas in the same metacat instance has been added to cvs head.

This is configured entirely in metacat.properties and allows you to specify multiple spatial schemas and the 4 bounding coordinates for each. If the docname matches one of the spatial schemas, it will use the appropriate set of coordinate xpaths.

This should mean that FGDC and EML documents can sit side-by-side in the same metacat instance and both will be included in the spatial cache ( although this has not been tested yet :-)
