openSaved parsed items do not show up in the Assessment Importer (in DataPackage wizard)

Description
for Exam1 from Fall 2004, it does not show the parsed items after finshed the parsing. i parsed the exam 1 from 2004 without any problem. however, When I chose the menu " Save and Close", it does not save the parsed items. it does not close the parsing window.

When I start morpho to access the data package corresponding to the parsed document, the meta-data is displayed fine but when I try to access the Assessment Items, the Assessment Importer window comes up BLANK with no items displayed!
This issue occurs on Fall2004-Exam1.pdf and Fall2005-Exam2.pdf.

While researching this bug, it came to my attention that there are cases in which the parser is generating QTI documents with multiple <item> elements.
This is not how we had intended to use the QTI specification - even for multipart questions.
When there are multiple <item> elements in the QTI, I get an error and the parser cannot reopen for editing the questions.
