Looked over their non-profit business options (http://www.google.com/earth/outreach/grants/software/mapsapi.html) and that doesn't seem to apply.
Would be nice if we could use the free version but not tie it to a specific person.

We should ship WITHOUT (Lauren's) api key.

I got nick to create a new account for us in the Google Apps NCEAS domain:

I have added two API projects that have different API keys we can use for deployment:
dev2 MetacatUI
KNB MetacatUI
and I linked our team's accounts to these projects as "owners":
googlemaps
cjones
jones
leinfelder
tao
walker

I have the password for the main account and can add projects as needed (perhaps SNAP and GOA).
Please use your own key for localhost development so that we do not inflate usage stats for any of our QA/Production environments.
