We need to add some preliminary concept support to NCU Specify. The Kansas folks have agreed (in principle) to add a field or two as needed to Specify for us. I think we might place a in the Determination table immediately after TaxonNameID a new variable ReferenceWorkID with a foreign key to ReferenceWork (skipping the DeterminiationReference table). If this field is blank on the Determination record flagged as current, or the reference is not mapped to Weakley, you can continue to map the specimen as a nominal. Does this make sense to you? Please look over the design.
