1. the generated ID somehow uses my name (from LDAP?) rather than just my uid. It used to be "leinfelder"but now i get a doc id like: "ben leinfelder.1.1" which I believe can cause problems (the white space, that is).

2. when I attempt to insert a second package, it tries to reuse the same ID and never seems to increment it's counter (not sure where it's getting the last id from, but it could be related the the whitespace in the ID's scope).
