closedUpdate to use new EZID API URL
0%
Description
The EZID admins sent us this. We should update our URLs whenever this change is made (estimated late January 2014).
All,
The previous message contained a misstatement. The URL to EZID's API will in fact change in late January. What will not change are the persistent links, expressed as URLs, of the ARKs and DOIs that EZID creates. Details will be made available closer to the date of the cutover.
We apologize for any confusion.

Subject: [EZID] Notification of upcoming change to EZID's URLIn late January, 2014, the URL for EZID's home page will change from http://n2t.net/ezid to http://ezid.cdlib.org. Note that URLs for your identifiers and for EZID's API will NOT change. We will provide a specific date for the cutover as soon as possible, however we wanted to give you advance notice. This change provides a more natural branding for EZID and improves our flexibility to provide N2T as a separate resolver service. Please be assured that we will support redirection from our old URL for one year so you will have ample time to implement any necessary updates.

- Status changed from New to In Progress
All,
EZID's domain name change is scheduled for our regularly scheduled maintenance window on Sunday night, February 2, 2014.
As noted earlier, this means:
1. The URL for EZID's home page will change from http://n2t.net/ezid to http://ezid.cdlib.org
2. The URL to EZID's API will change to http://ezid.cdlib.org
3. The persistent links, expressed as URLs, of the ARKs and DOIs that EZID creates will not change.
For the EZID user interface, we will support redirection from the old URL for a minimum of one year.
However, all API users will need to update their clients to use the new URL. We will provide a one month window for doing so. Beginning on Sunday March 2 after the regular maintenance window, EZID will no longer respond to API requests at the old URL.
Thank you,
The EZID Team

Ben -- I think we need to send a notice about this out to metacat-dev, both making it clear that this feature is now part of Metacat, and that people need to update the ezid URL for things to continue working. Thanks for fixing it for the release.
