h1. First Community Workshop 

 h2. Goals 

 * Develop ideas for larger synthesis across systems 
 * Introduce scientists to the concept of workflow systems 
 * Introduce scientists to open data and methods sharing 
 * Gather requirements for collaboration tools that would allow scientists to use them and share data and workflows. 


 h2. Participants 

 7 or 8 graduate students / post docs with strong R skills in addition to community analysis interest 
 2 or 3 senior scientists with access to datasets of interest 
 2 or 3 members of the R community 
 2 or 3 members of the workflow system community 
 5 project team members 
 17 total

 Outcome 

 * list of analyses 
 * list of data sets 
 * list of data transformation operations to get from raw data to analyses 
 * list of visualizations
