I pasted the text

into a taxon name. it told me that was invalid input and that i needed to use
only letters or numbers, but then i just left the text there and it let me
continue. It probably should stop me from going on with those chars in the field.

fixed. now, a user cant leave a cell after entering some invalid data. invalid
entries, if any at all, are discarded at the end and not included in the DP.
