Description

A new web-based system of delivery to contractors of baseline/previous data (to be inserted into the data tool to generate datasheets) will be developed prior to the 2009 season.

Michael will check into better automating downloading data (see VegBranch) and write a tool that puts the data from the archive database onto CVS webspace. Party will be omitted. Just stems, notes, plots will be included.

application.importXML() can pull data from the web WITHOUT PROMPTS and seemingly without internet issues, but it excludes Access 2000 as an option. We could use this function to pull data, since it doesn't require prompts and firewall issues. For Access 2000 users, it would be nice to have a fall-back plan, perhaps importHTML?

This now works for Access 2002+ users. It remains to be seen whether we need a backup option for Access 2000 users. If they need data, they can email us, we could pop it into an entry tool and send it to them, which is what we do now, only it's not quite that easy for us now.

I added a blurb for access 2000 users to email cvs (at) unc.edu to get their data.
