If we don't add the SPAN config files or wiring diagram, not much will have to be done here.

Need to make sure the new model type has an X next to it when the KAR is in your local repo and you're not in the sensor view suite. When opening this type of KAR when you are in the sensor view suite, the sensor view should open.

Re: comment#3, kars contain a module dependency list now, so the broken icon etc is taken care of.
And opening a kar that contains a Site Layout will open into the Sensor view.
Re: comment#2, we don't currently plan to save the CRBasic program or SPAN config files to the kar.
I think this bug can be closed, closing.
