This is resolved, for the most part. The maximum year is now dynamically set to the current year, and the minimum year is manually set to 1900. It was becoming too complicated to only set the min and max years upon an initial search, because otherwise the slider would update after every filter is applied, possibly pushing the slider to different values than the user has chosen, causing confusion.
