Description
First - the website looks fantastic. I love the search interface too. A few items (using Mac OS Mavericks, Chrome Version 31.0.1650.63)
Issues
1) some weird alignment issues with the metadata elements/entries on the data package description - screenshot attached (png)
2) Data Citation - If the info in the grey box at the top of the description is intended to be a citation you can copy/paste, it needs a few more elements (year, dataset location). If it's not intended to be a citation, consider adding one.
Improvements:
1) When permissions are stated as “obtain permission from originator(s)" - helpful to have direct link to contact info
2) First dataset I looked at had very minimal metadata. I didn't realize they chose not to fill out a lot of the metadata till I clicked on the next package. Perhaps “none provided” when missing entire major metadata fields?
3) would be awesome to have a dataset preview of sorts - first few lines of spreadsheet, for example.
4) Would be helpful to visually separate metadata sub-headings in on package description page - maybe gray shaded box around text? Made example mockup in jpg attached.
5) Would be helpful to have a description of “data set usage rights”. the entries are very technical and fuzzy, and this might deter the user.

I've added a Metacat ticket to change eml-identifier.xsl to add the year to the citation

This is along the lines of the data attributes being blank, updated Metacat ticket 6355
