This is implemented in the default and DataONE themes. This is useful because there are some data sets that have multiple geographic regions specified and each region will add a +1 to the geohash tile in which it is contained. So sometimes the map will have tiles which counts that add up to higher than the number of results in the list. Having a separate marker for each geo region allows the user to hover over each and view that specific region.
