Description
When a document error occurs, like if it can't be opened, saved, etc., or if
there are validation or other errors, the user needs to be notified in a more
user-friendly way so that they understand what happened and can respond.
Currently a bunch of messages go to stderr and stdout which are cryptic.

Lowered priority because we might drop MDE and replace it with another editing
solution.

This problem referred to the MDE which is no longer being used. Problem is thus
invalid.
