Blocks VegBank - Bug #1220: Need systematic approach to viewing all data in databaseResolved11/21/2003

#1 Updated by John Harris over 19 years ago

This refers to a feature that allows a user to interpret the community
associated with a plot stored in vegbank.

#2 Updated by Michael Lee over 19 years ago

This is a more commonly used bit of data that users will want to add outside of
a plot. Also somewhat simple in implementation -- simple form linked to one or
two tables. (A bit more for community -- but this functionality is quite
central to what we're working on.)

First, Lee should design the form, pass to Peet/Jacobs/Gramling/others for
evaluation. Then bug should be passed to Mark for implementation, then back to
Lee for QA, then back to others for evaluation and suggestions for improvement.

really would like this by the meeting.

no time left. These must sadly be pushed back to version 1.0.0

not really Nov1, but sooner than other bugs

depends on CRUD
see example:

There must be a link to the interpreting page from the plot
summary/comprehensive plot view. Then the actual form needs to link to other
information available.

At one point we had tokens that represented the closed list values, which would
be useful here. Hardcoding not a good idea.

Similarly, we need to think about a standard way to pull all the available
references into a picklist and/or search for them (since there will soon be many).

Simpler option exists, where we could only use the one party of the current user
and only allow one community per interpretation. This should speed up the
development process greatly. for example of
what it'd look like and where the form fields would map to in the db (generallY)

needs to have a link to the query and "Browse" for community pages, if available

#10 Updated by Michael Lee about 17 years ago

It's been happening recently and is done? Needs to be hooked into
observation_comprehensive view.

this bug, first talked about by John Harris: 2003-01-08 22:39:30 is FINALLY

Query a plot, view its details, then follow the link where it talks about comms
to interpret it.
