Description

Since kepler has multiple access points to external networks, a reliable, secure
authentication system is required to help users manage their logins and
passwords. There are several parts to this bug:

1) Design a UI - Laura/Matt/Efrat
2) Design API for accessing credentials - Jing/Efrat
3) Install GAMA and integrate it with Ecoinfo LDAP - Jing
4) Get GEON/ecoinfo/DiGIR to use compatible DN format - Matt/Dave
5) Get GEON/ecoinfo/DiGIR to accept each other's certs - Matt/Dave

History

#1 Updated by Matt Jones over 13 years ago

Decided to use GAMA and X.509 GSI proxy certificates. Design is on the wiki here:

http://kepler-project.org/Wiki.jsp?page=KeplerAuthenticationFramework

It is being implemented by Zhijie Guan.

#2 Updated by Chad Berkley about 12 years ago

The kepler authentication system was majorly overhauled in late 2006. It now includes a plugable system for different types of authentication schemes.
