Actions #1

Updated by Matt Jones over 23 years ago

Changed milestone for a number of morpho features that will not be able to be
completed by Beta 1 (ESA). Delaying these features to Beta 2.

A simple graphical interface for spatial searches has been implemented. A map of
the world is displayed and the user selects a rectangular bounding box by simply
dragging the mouse. The map can be zoomed and the bounding box rectangle dragged
around the map. The latitide and longitudes indicated by the bounding box are
displayed in text boxes, and can be set by entering values (in several formats)
if desired.

The interface is based on 'LiveMap' at
http://tmap.pmel.noaa.gov/~callahan/JAVA/map_v3.0/LiveMap_v3.0.html

Note that the actual query based on this interface has not yet been implemented.

Query generation code has been generated and LocalQuery extended to handle
spatial queries. The code works with local documents, but there seems to be a
problem with Metacat queries based on numerical inequalities (based on browser
form tests).

Actions #4

Updated by Dan Higgins about 22 years ago

Problem with how Metacat handles non-numeric strings in bounding fields when a
'less-than' or 'greater-than' comparison is made. When non-numeric strings are
encountered, NO hits are returned. The Morpho side of the spatial query works OK
when there are no errors in metacat metadata.

A Metacat error describing the problem has been filed.
