Bug #223
closedBuild installers for Windows, Mac, Linux
0%
Description
Need to build installers for Windows, Mac, and Linux. These should not require
Java (they should be able to install Java as part of the install process). And
they should not have a lot of difficult to meet dependencies (like
InstallAnywhere's use of an Applet). They should be simple executables for the
target platform that allows the user to 1) install Java if needed, and 2)
install the program (with any application configuration that is needed) without
the need for following instructions in a README file.

Need to verify that the installer properly installs beside old versions of
Morpho. This should probably be an upgrade, replacing the old version with the
new one. Some users have gotten confused because, after installing a new
version, they have two versions installed and they happen to launch the old one,
not being able to differentiate between the installed copies. I'm not quite
sure how to address this.
Also note that migrating existing profiles to the new version would be an
iportant aspect of an upgrade.
