Description

Some Metacat requests take noticable amounts of time. There needs to be some
indication of activity while waiting for Metacat response for all cases where
Metacat is called.

Problem has been fixed with the addition of separate theads for time consuming
tasks. "Flapping butterfly" used to indicate that thread is working.
