Bug #451
closedEnable Java Web Start for Morpho
0%
Description
It would be good to be able to start Morpho using Java Web Start
(http://java.sun.com/products/javawebstart/). This would allow us to do
automatic upgrades, and might be more convenient for the user.
I have implemented the vast majority of this functionality. It mainly involved
creating a jar file for the configuration files (morpho-config.jar) as part of
the build process. Although a lot of Morpho works under this new scenario,
there are still a few bugs, mostly with the DataPackage wizards. I'll be coming
back to finish these things off later.
If you want to try out my incomplete implementation, install Java Web Start and
then go to the following URL:

Fixed. In the process, upgraded to Xerces2 to address ClassLoader issues. All
files are now in jar files. Profiles have moved to the user.dir, as has
config.xml. XML Parsers should be created using the new utility routines. See
the CVS log for more details.
I think we should install a development version of Morpho and a stable version
of morpho for use via JWS. Maybe the stable one can go on ecoinfo and the
development one on dev?
