Welcome to the OBFS Data Registry. This is the primary source for
49
comprehensive information about scientific and research data sets collected
50
within or under the auspices of the Organization of Biological Field Stations.

54
This project is a cooperative effort of <a href="http://www.obfs.org">OBFS</a>,
55
the <a href="http://www.nceas.ucsb.edu">National Center for
56
Ecological Analysis and Synthesis (NCEAS)</a>, the
57
<a href="http://nrs.ucop.edu">UC Natural Reserve System</a>, and the
58
<a href="http://www.lternet.edu">LTER Network Office</a>.
59
The Data Registry is based on software developed by the
60
<a href="http://knb.ecoinformatics.org">Knowledge Network for
61
Biocomplexity (KNB)</a>, and
62
houses metadata that are compliant with
63
<a href="http://knb.ecoinformatics.org/software/eml/">Ecological Metadata
64
Language (EML)</a>.

66
<p>&nbsp;</p>
67
<p>
68
Credit for the datasets in this registry goes to the investigators who
69
collected the data, and also to the OBFS sites and system for providing
70
an effective and pleasant environment for research and education at
71
the individual research stations.
72
Our particular thanks go out to the OBFS reserve managers, scientists,
73
and stewards for their comments and continuing support.

The registry search system is used to locate data sets of interest
82
by searching through existing registered data sets.
83
Presently the search covers all fields, including
84
author, title, abstract, keywords, and other documentation
85
for each dataset. (More sophisticated search capabilities,
86
including boolean field searches, will be available in future.)
