2.0-RC3 installer: R Kepler Module is not optional
Added by Christopher Brooks over 14 years ago.
Updated over 12 years ago.
Description
When installing Kepler-2.0-RC3, I'm presented with
two choices:
Kepler
R Kepler Module
Both are required, I can't uncheck "R Kepler Module",
so why bother with this window?
Files
I agree that there is no reason to bother with this window. But it is a very minor issue and I do not think we should delay the 2.0 release over this. I was looking into izPack, and it may not be too difficult to change this if you were creating and install.xml file directly. However, I would have to dive into Chad's code which generates install.xml to make this change and have to study the specialized language written in install.xml to understand everything. In other words, this would be a non-trivial project.
I want to automate the installer post-2.0. Fixing this sort of thing would be best done at that time.
I am open to objections, but for now, I am tentatively setting this bug to post-2.0 and making it so that it does not block the release. If anyone has an argument to the contrary, I am open to it. I just don't think this should delay the release though.
The Kepler-2.3 Windows installer has a window for selecting which packs
are to be installed.
However, Kepler is the only pack that can be installed.

Can we not display this window? It is useless, the user can only
click previous, next or quit.
I'm marking this for consideration for 2.4.0, though making it a low priority.
Fixed.
I commented out the pack selection pane in
