Description

Morpho should be able to be configured to support multiple controlled
vocabularies and present the user with an easy to use tree or picklist from
which they can choose keyword terms fromthe controlled vocabularies.

This is useful for keywordSets, but also the same widget could be used for
picking coverage values for taxonomic coverage fromthe taxonomic hierarchy.
Make it general, modular, and reusable in multiple contexts.

Base this capability on the new Jalam work after it is finished.

this is mostly finished because of the FIRST project.
not sure what the exact use case is for taxonomic coverage....

Taxonomic Coverage:
I'm assuming you would first select a "Classification System" (constrained vocabulary) and then based on that selection you would be able to select value[s] from the list that were present in your dataset.
Perhaps the lookup will go beyond a static XML list and can use webservices much like the NBII lookup used in the FIRST project.

Ben,

Is this controlled vocabulary pick list complete enough to be closed for the 1.7 release? If so, can you open a separate bug for the taxon picker and call this one done?
